Itinerary highlights

  • Baroque palaces, rich museums, Belle Époque cafés: experience the soul of three Central European capitals.
  • No traffic jams, no parking worries, and ever-changing scenery - travel by train!
  • A cruise on the Vltava in Prague, the Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna, the Széchenyi Baths in Budapest: already planned
  • Carbon neutrality, charming accommodations, private guides, mobile app: the extra Voyageurs touch
This journey takes you to discover three iconic cities of Central Europe: Prague, Vienne and Budapest. Former capitals of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, they are steeped in a unique cultural and artistic heritage. The atmosphere is as poetic as it is festive, the tables are a true culinary melting pot, music is everywhere, and the microbreweries are almost as numerous as the museums. On the logistics side, we have thought of everything: the train journey from one city centre to another, and our favourite places, chosen for their comfort, location and exceptional charm - whether historic or more contemporary. And if you wish, you can even replace international flights with train journeys. To make the most of each stop-off, we have already included a private discovery of Prague’s Old Town and the Mala Strana district; a cruise on the Vltava River; a guided tour of Vienna and entry to Schönbrunn Palace; as well as access to the Széchenyi Baths in Budapest and a city walk with a local.

Your stop-offs

Prague - Prague is an enchantment for those discovering it, and those who already know it secretly envy those who are seeing it for the first time. The Old Town, New Town, Vysehrad, the castle and the tree-covered Petrin Hill form a deeply moving urban landscape on both sides of the Vltava. Baroque, of course, but also Gothic, Renaissance, Art Nouveau, functionalist… A miraculous and compact area to explore on foot and by tram. On the hillsides, beautiful parks and gardens offer places to pause and contemplate the towers and spires reaching towards the sky. In the inns, the flow of Staropramen or Pilsen sets the tone for the conversations.

Vienna - Gothic, Expressionist or “Secession”, few cities have absorbed and embraced the trends of their times as much as Vienna. A marvel for the traveller who finds in Vienna the beauty of grandeur coinciding with the power of an Empire, now coexisting with a more modest Alpine republic. It is undoubtedly this contradiction - imperial grandeur and provincial charm - that makes every discovery of Vienna unique andnostalgic.

Budapest - with the Danube winding through it - has submerged its sorrows in its calm, dreamy waters. Melancholic in its misty hours or lively during its nights of revelry, the capital reveals itself along its wide avenues or in the hollows of its cobbled alleyways. From one bank to the other, the Pest plain gives way to the country lanes of Buda Hill. Would you rather have a coffee break in a Belle Époque café or take time for contemplation in the museums? Budapest is best discovered as a leisurely wanderer, enchanted and charmed.

Itinerary

100% customisable for you

Private transfer to your accommodation. Two-night stay in the heart of the Mala Strana district, a stone's throw from the castle. Behind its cut-stone façade, this former 14th-century brewery hides a thoroughly contemporary atmosphere, with beautiful wooden floors and carefully designed lighting. Some original features, especially on the ceilings, are still strongly present and give the place incredible charm.

Prague is, of course, Mozart, fairy-tale palaces, countless churches, and the weight of history you can feel along its medieval streets. But “the little mother”, as Kafka called the city, is much more than that. Today it embodies a modern Europe where art extends beyond the gilding of centuries-old masterpieces, where music can be pop or classical, and where, ultimately, you can experience several cities in one.
Scheduled - Private tour of the Old Town and Mala Strana. With a specialist, you set out to explore Prague's historic districts. The tour begins at the Municipal House and the Powder Tower, which marks the boundary between the old and new towns. Along the Old Town' charming passageways and mysterious alleys the history of Prague comes alive through its iconic landmarks. You will start with baroque palaces, the City Hall with its astronomical clock, and the medieval churches that shape the cityscape. Stroll through the market squares, then follow the Royal Route and cross the Charles Bridge, with its beautiful gallery of sculptures. Once on Kampa Island, you feel the unique intimate and baroque atmosphere of the Mala Strana district. After the visit, you board a cruise on the Vltava, giving you another perspective of the Czech capital. You sail along the river aboard a vodouch, a small traditional wooden boat, which takes you at a gentle pace from architectural gem to historical marvel.
Optional - An unusual guided tour of Prague as it is today.

Train to Vienna from Prague Central Station (4 hours and 10 minutes). Upon arrival, private transfer and three-night stay in a beautiful 19th-century building in the centre of Vienna. Inside, the atmosphere is elegant, with soft colours, wooden floors, mirrors and antique chandeliers. The style is eclectic, evoking both Viennese Art Nouveau and French and Italian influences. From the pleasant terrace, you have a view of the baroque tower of Heiligenkreuz Abbey.
Magical Vienna? Absolutely. The city blends imperial elegance with modern energy. In a place with such a rich past, where art feels like a rule of life, nothing seems impossible. It satisfies every sense, nourishing us with its history and music as generously as with its schnitzels.

In your itinerary - Vienna, like a local. Some cities open up easily, and others, for all their charm, remain reserved. Vienna falls into the second category. The “like a local” encounter therefore suits it perfectly. You'll experience an informal meeting with a Viennese local, discuss viewpoints and a stroll in true Viennese style together. The idea is to let the Austrian capital speak for itself and invite you to simply enjoy it. Your guide is fully qualified to make that connection. And to share a few good tips for what comes next. You have a ticket for Schönbrunn Palace. Originally built by Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach between 1696 and 1699, the palace was continually redesigned by its owners — most notably Empress Maria Theresa and Emperor Franz Joseph. In this impressive summer palace, visitors discover rooms adorned in a charming chinoiserie style. They admire the remarkable gardens, made famous by the Gloriette, Neptune’s fountain, and Roman ruin. The greenhouses contain important botanical collections, and the founding date of Schönbrunn Zoo makes it the oldest in Europe: 1752. Giant pandas delight the many fans of these irresistibly cuddly creatures.

Things to see and do - Visit the City Hall - spend an evening at the Opera - discuss The Crucifixion at the Museum of Art History - find out what a real Viennese schnitzel is - admire St Stephen’s Cathedral, a Gothic survivor in the Baroque district - take in the view from the Prater’s giant Ferris wheel - go shopping on Mariahilfer Strasse - indulge in a Sachertorte… and a Viennese hot chocolate - be amazed by the Hofburg Palace.

Optional - A ticket for The Four Seasons.

Train to Budapest from Hauptbahnhof station (2 hours and 35 minutes). On arrival, private transfer. You will spend two nights in a trendy urban hotel in the central Terezvaros district. Although the building dates back to the 18th century, the hotel is far from old-fashioned. Its modern spirit includes a strong commitment to the environment and is expressed beautifully through refined furnishings, graphic décor, and inspired cocktails at the bar. Relaxation lies at the heart of the concept, and it's a pleasure to unwind in the sauna or take a break in the lovely inner courtyard, draped in romantic Virginia creeper.

They call it the Pearl of the Danube. Yet Budapest is really a necklace, its many pearls jostling before coming together beautifully in the course of history. Budapest has a rich past shaped by a thousand influences: Ottoman, Austrian, and Angevin. The city has cherished this energy and transformed it into a vibrant rebirth and development.
Scheduled: a tour of Budapest in the footsteps of a local. There’s nothing better than a Budapest local to tell you about the city, and truly reveal it to you! Take a stroll without a set itinerary and explore the capital at your own pace, following your whims and your guide’s recommendations. They'll share their favourite culinary spots, preferred neighbourhoods, historical anecdotes, and insights into everyday life in Budapest. Next, head to the Széchenyi Baths, whose medicinal benefits come from springs discovered in the 1800s. Their many pools invite you to bathe in temperatures ranging from 16°C to 40°C, both indoors or outdoors. This is one of the largest thermal complexes in Europe, where you experience both a wonderful sense of well-being and a unique historical setting.
Things to experience and do - Stroll past the baroque façades of Úri utca; wander around the gardens and villas of Buda; enjoy an afternoon snack in a neo-baroque or Belle Époque pastry shop; sample Hungarian wines in a medieval cellar; shop on the pedestrian Vaci Utca; stroll through the chic, residential Rozsadomb district; enjoy a popular, traditional dinner in a local canteen; spend an evening at the Opera.
Optional - Trendy Budapest tour with a private guide.

À la carte

This suggested itinerary can be customisable down to the smallest detail, including duration, stops and content. An à la carte menu of experiences is also available to create a journey that reflects who you are.

Prague - An unusual tour of the Vinohrady district

Because Prague is more than just an open-air museum, we invite you to (re)discover it through its neighbourhoods where life is good. Vinohrady, for example, far from the tourist sites, features beautiful, colourful Art Deco buildings. But you can also check out the colour grey when touring the television tower. You’ll discover small craft workshops and intimate cafés frequented only by Czechs. On this relaxed stroll, you’ll feel like a local: wandering through a farmers’ market, eagerly biting into a buchta, stretching your legs at a café terrace, and enjoying beautiful viewpoints little known to tourists.
Optional - With a private guide

Vienna - A Ticket for the Four Seasons

The Karlskirche - St Charles Borromeo Church, Fischer von Erlach father and son, 1716-37 - is one of the great baroque masterpieces in a city that has more than its fair share! Johann Michael Rottmayr designed dazzling frescoes for the dome. Above the main altar, the explosive display of Ferdinand Maximilian Brokoff’s grand altarpiece leaves one speechless. In short, visitors are treated to a visual feast - both imperial and Tridentine. If we are going to organise concerts here, they should at least be in tune with the place. And what baroque composition has achieved the level of fame of Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons? None. So that’s the piece that Ensemble 1756 will perform for you on periodinstruments.
Optional

Trendy Budapest, in private

Budapest has kept the best from a tumultuous past and has managed to transform itself into a modern, fashionable and creative city. It’s this alternative, even underground side of Budapest that you’ll encounter on this relaxed walk. Along the way, you’ll discover a small confectionery factory, the Maison de l’Artisanat, and an art-house cinema. Finally, you’ll feast your eyes in the Budapest street art district and its charming art galleries.

Optional - With a private guide

With a few extra days… Berlin

If you are not pressed for time, we highly recommend taking advantage of the reopening of the Paris-Berlin night train to begin your journey to the German capital. Meet at Gare de l’Est - departure at exactly 7.12pm. The train to your destination of Berlin Hauptbahnhof is leaving the station. The hours slip by, and so do the kilometres. The train enters Germany through the Black Forest, where it travels up along the German Wine Route. In the heart of the night and of Hesse, the locomotive slows down in Frankfurt before setting off again at full speed. Thuringia, Saxony-Anhalt and, finally, Brandenburg, which surrounds the capital. It is 8am, and Berlin is waking up. The city has that effortlessly cool vibe of cities that do not bother trying to look chic; it has neither the time nor the desire for it. Underground culture has taken precedence over the splendour of historic buildings that have become too polished. It had to reinvent itself or step aside, and it chose the first option. The Bohemian Prenzlauer Berg, the alternative Kreuzberg, and the inevitable Mitte: the neighbourhoods follow one another, each distinct from the next. A curtsy or a bow on the Reichstag roof. The building itself embodies Berlin’s renewal: set on fire in 1933, bombed during the war, it inherited a transparent dome at the dawn of the new century. A symbol in itself.
