Itinerary highlights

  • Indulge in the pleasures of the Mediterranean far from the crowds: hiking, easy living, invigorating sea bathing and good tavernas.
  • Your charming accommodation, chosen for its sophistication and its location right on or almost on the water's edge.
  • Explore Paros with a local and a private exploration of the wild islet of Therasia: it's all planned!
  • Direct flights, carbon absorption, rental car, mobile app and Concierge service: the extra Voyageurs touch.
Off the beaten path. Enjoy spaces that are usually busy. Savour tranquillity, mingle with the islanders - especially their elders - and gain an insider’s perspective. We recommend doing this in spring (April-May): the Cyclades are arid and barren for much of the year but are covered with wild, multicoloured flowers at that time of year. The narrow streets and walls of the houses are being repainted, and the final touches are being added to renovation work to reinvigorate the places and give future tourists a proper welcome. Or you can opt for later in the season (autumn), when only a handful of tourists remain and the waters are almost as welcoming as in the height of summer. Before or after the high season, you can (re)discover the true Cyclades by exploring three of its islands that belong to the same circle in southern Aegean: Mykonos, Paros and the volcanic Santorini. This means incredibly intense blue skies and sea, set off by dazzling white. There’s good reason for this sunny spot being associated with Apollo. Rugged, fragrant lands where fishing boats bring in octopus and sea bream. The wines are heady, the villages immaculate and traditional life is slow - and even more so at these times. Such are the Greek islands, emerging from mythological depths and turned towards contemporary indulgence. The sea, but not only that.

Your trip

Ferry connections are an integral part of life in the Cyclades, so they are used whenever possible, especially as the journeys are not too long. Once you're there, you can walk, borrow or hire a bike, or use local transport. In Paros, however, you will have a car at your disposal. This will give you greater freedom and flexibility during your short stay. Your hotels all offer high-quality facilities and services, a favourable location and excellent restaurants. The islands on which they are located give them their uniqueness and personality: Mykonos is not Santorini, and neither of them is Paros. A trip to the Cyclades holds more surprises than you could ever imagine. That's why we've put together an itinerary that balances planned experiences with solo explorations. In Paros, a rendezvous to get you up to speed straight away: Explore Paroikia with a local resident. Off the coast of Santorini, head for the islet of Therasia, which harks back to the Santorini of a few decades ago. Would you also like to visit Delos, the largest ancient city in the Aegean Sea, with a private guide? Fancy trying your hand at the basics (and a little more) of Greek cuisine? Just let us know. And if, along the way, you’d like to try something that you hadn’t planned for, or if a slight setback arises, you will have the contact details of our on-site Concierge service at your disposal.

Itinerary

100% customisable for you

Private transfer to Mykonos town and stay for two nights in a charming hotel overlooking the Aegean Sea. The location is ideal for enjoying the island's attractions with all the necessary comforts. Guests can enjoy a peaceful establishment with decor inspired by the south of France. To reach the rooms, guests stroll through tiny white and blue alleyways, as if walking through a village. The sea view from your accommodation is impressive. And the old port and the centre are only a ten-minute walk away.

Beautiful by day, wild by night, this legendary island is a goddess with two faces. Out of season, you can enjoy the day as Mykonos reveals some of the most beautiful landscapes in the Cyclades: a maze of winding alleys; harbours where boats and canoes bob lazily at the foot of terraces; blue-domed chapels (of which there are 365 on the island, one for each day of the year)... In spring, the colourful bougainvillea bracts appear and remain vibrant until November. In Mykonos town - known as “Chora” by the locals - the Alefkandra district has balconies overlooking the water with picture-perfect views of the Aegean. Not far away, in Kastro, the Panagia Paraportiani church (17th-18th century) is dazzlingly white and reveals a complex structure comprising five different chapels. Nothing challenges it as a local symbol, except perhaps the windmills that were built in the 16th century. The most beautiful beaches are on the south coast, with the best-known beaches of Ornos and Platys Gialos yours to enjoy without the usual crowds. From Chora, you can reach the coastal path to the southern beaches, where you can stroll leisurely along the five-mile (eight kilometres) long promenade, basking in the perfect temperature.
Optional - A private tour of Delos, the largest ancient city in the Aegean Sea.

Private transfer to the port and hydrofoil crossing to Paros. Another private transfer and stay for three nights in Naoussa Bay. The island of Paros owes its reputation to its white marble, which was used to sculpt some of the most famous masterpieces. Your hotel respects the island's tradition and is perched, all dressed in white, atop the village. It is built on terraces on different levels, so it is not ideal for people who have difficulty walking, but this peculiarity gives it a lot of charm. The owners are natives of the island of Paros and make it a point of honour to take care of their guests with refined decor and design, baskets of fresh fruit on arrival, a crackling fire in the fireplace in the off-season and delicious 100% homemade meals.
Just for you - Your rental car is delivered to the hotel and is just waiting to be picked up!

On your itinerary - Paros in the footsteps of a local. Don't plan anything, just keep in mind what it is you want to see and do. You'll share this with Stephanie, whose passion and expertise lie in the Cyclades. She'll then turn your preferences into something unexpected and deeply satisfying. She’ll guide you into the maze of old Parikia, where you can discover shops and tiny private oratories. The Panagia Ekatontapiliani church does not have a hundred doors, as its name suggests, but it dates from the 4th-6th centuries, so it is the most important early Christian monument in the Cyclades. Almost troglodytic, the church of Saint John of the Meetings inspires reverie. The small cafés seem not to have changed a bit since the 1970s, and you could swear that the ouzo has a special taste here. In short, things reveal themselves in their uniqueness.

At the wheel, you drive along the hilly paths of Paros, between orchards and olive groves, vineyards and windmills, passing quiet coastal villages with walls as white as sugar. The peaceful harmony of Paros is palpable. You wander among jasmine-covered houses in cobbled streets searching for the remains that are revealed to curious visitors. In the mountains, Lefkés is a model village where life is calm. The elders peacefully twirl their komboloi beads in front of the kafenios . A few walks in the scrubland and the scents of the hinterland provide a pleasant counterpoint to the pleasures of sand and water, which are more timid at this time of year.
Optional - Greek cooking classes.

Return the car directly to the hotel, private transfer to the port and boat crossing to Santorini. Another private transfer and stay for two nights in a peaceful neighbourhood of Fira, the island's capital. The hotel is located at the end of a cobbled alleyway and immerses its guests in the history of Santorini with its houses once inhabited by the island's maritime nobility, its traditional hyposkafas dug directly into the cliff and the neighbouring centuries-old church with its alabaster dome. The homage continues inside the spacious suites, with architecture and furnishings characteristic of the island. Perched on the edge of the coast, they seem suspended between the Aegean Sea and the sky, so it’s the perfect setting for spectacular sunsets. Unsurprisingly, their names evoke those of the ancient Greek gods of the wind. In the evening, the chef - who is as local as they come, both in terms of his origins and his cuisine - concocts delicious dishes to be enjoyed either in the poolside restaurant or directly on the terrace, if the air is warm enough.

Already on your itinerary -  Thirassia Island on foot. Private transfer to Ammoudi harbour, where you will take the ferry to Thirassia, off the coast of Santorini. This virtually uninhabited island offers an authentic Greek lifestyle in an idyllic setting. The caldera and steep cliffs are located on its eastern side, while the land slopes gently down to the west of the island. You will walk through vineyards and villages with cave dwellings. Take the time to taste bread baked in a traditional wood-fired oven and have lunch in an old vineyard before heading to Korfos Bay and the village of Manolas, where you can admire the cove and the breathtaking view of the villages of Santorini on the other side of the caldera.

You can take advantage of this last day in Santorini to stroll a little more through the cobbled streets of the town, away from the summer crowds.
Not to be missed - St. John the Baptist Cathedral, the Orthodox Cathedral of Ypapantis, the iconic bells of the Orthodox Church of Aghios Spyridonas.
Another option is to set off early in the morning on foot towards Oia. Follow a famous trail with spectacular views of the caldera and the sea.
At the end of the day, private transfer to the airport and direct return flight.

À la carte

This suggested itinerary can be customisable down to the smallest detail, including duration, stops and content. An à la carte menu of experiences is also available to create a journey that reflects who you are.

A private tour of Delos, the largest ancient city in the Aegean Sea.

Due to its archaeological, historical and artistic significance, the island of Delos, a former Panhellenic sanctuary, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In fact, you will probably feel like you have seen the famous marble lionesses guarding the path to the Temple of Leto somewhere before. In photographs, no doubt. In person, the statues are impressive. The Apollo complex is surprisingly large. One area housed the sports facilities required for the Delian League. Not far away are the remains of the oldest synagogue known outside the Holy Land. And the private residences were also full of decorum and sophistication. This is evidenced, for example, by the mosaics in the House of the Dolphins. The explanations provided by your guide are invaluable in shedding light on all this. You take the boat to get there and back.

Greek cooking class

The Cyclades are home to a collection of terroirs, where people live off their own produce, cultivating vegetable gardens, orchards and plots of land planted with olive trees, and bartering with their neighbours - honey for feta, figs for citrons - a world away from intensive farming. Greece in general is known for its simple, sun-kissed cuisine, with sharing dishes that are placed in the middle of a large table. In short, it is a lively, vibrant and generous cuisine that you will discover in detail (and, above all, cook yourself!) during this half-day session.
