  • Our selection of riads and hotels with character, in the heart of the medinas or along the ocean
  • Tangier in the footsteps of a local, the secrets of argan oil in private, a walk in the forest: it’s all planned
  • Concierge service, rental car & our recommendations: travel Voyageurs-style
The cities along the Moroccan coast are made to receive. It is this openness to the world that gives their old medinas the particular charm they exude. They feature architecture blending Roman, Marinid, Andalusian and Portuguese heritage, for which empires once vied. These gems are enhanced by wide stretches of sand and a mild climate throughout the year. At the crossroads of sea and ocean, your journey begins, in Tangier, torn between two continents. Its history is told at the Kasbah Museum of Mediterranean Cultures, located in the former Dar al-Makhzen, once the residence of the sultans. We then enjoy a break at Café Hafa, a legendary spot from the 1920s and a haven for artists. Then you head to Moulay Bousselham, a small fishing village and seaside resort still untouched by mass tourism. A haven of tranquillity offering a splendid panorama - on one side the lagoons, on the other the sea. A little further south lies the capital, Rabat, often remembered as a haven for pirates. Since then, the city has mellowed considerably. It is then time to set off for Oualidia, one of the most authentic seaside resorts on the Moroccan coast. At the restaurant, we savour a freshly caught spider crab. Your last days will be spent inEssaouira. The old Mogador captivates with its bohemian spirit and the charm of its winding alleyways. Life here moves to the rhythm of the sea, on the long sandy beach or on the pier, pausing to savour a few sardines. Along the way, you can visit Asilah and El Jadida, fishing and seafaring towns with their preserved charm. This trip brings you into contact with all the delightful contrasts of the West.

Your trip

When you leave Tangier, you take the wheel for the rest of the trip. The roads offer spectacular scenery, and the distances are never tiring. Throughout your trip, you have access to an app loaded with your itinerary and our recommendations, among other features. You will settle into traditional riads or intimate guesthouses by the water. Add these highlights to your calendar: Tangier with a local, to get as close as possible to local customs; near Essaouira, a walk among the argan trees and argan oil, with a private guide. Once on site, our Concierge service is there to respond to your requests, whether it is an unexpected situation or a last-minute request.

Itinerary

100% customisable for you

Upon arrival, private transfer and installation for two nights in a site that is part of the city's historic heritage, built in 1860 to be the residence of a wealthy Tangier family. At first glance, you might feel a bit lost - are we in the south of France? On the shore of a large Italian lake? But the lush gardens and the atmosphere here bring you back to reality. Despite the renovation, the Napoleon III architecture has been preserved. It is easy to imagine the lavish receptions that once brought together the Moroccan and European elite of the time. Several indoor and outdoor spaces are available to travellers: small green nooks in the garden, intimate living areas… Eclectic elements - rococo chandeliers and mirrors, Napoleonic bathtubs, colourful sofas, contemporary paintings and antique candelabras - make up the décor, giving the place a trendy look. During leisure hours, guests can enjoy the pool and the terrace with views of the Strait of Gibraltar and the Bay of Tangier.

Scheduled - Tangier in the footsteps of a local. Your guide for the day knows the city like the back of their hand and shows it to you in their own way - and according to your wishes - during a wonderful stroll through the maze of streets. An opportunity to immerse yourself in history, where novelists and adventurers cross paths in search of inspiration. From the sublime Barbara Hutton Palace to Petit Socco Square, where Truman Capote and Elizabeth Taylor once lounged, and through the city's cultural highlights, this passionate guide reveals the secrets of these places.
Optional - Extend your walk to discover Tangier's artistic side.

You’ll pick up your rental car and drive to Asilah, a charming seaside town surrounded by ramparts built by the Portuguese in the 1400s. Close to beautiful sandy beaches, Asilah unfurls its medina and whitewashed houses along the Atlantic coast. As you wander through the alleyways, it’s not uncommon to come across colourful murals painted by artists.
Later, you’lldrive to Moulay Bousselham and spend the night at a guesthouse run by a French couple. In this white and blue residence, Moroccan craftsmanship blends elegantly with 1950s design décor. On site: heated pool, hammam, cinema lounge, bar, solarium and massage room.
The small town, facing the Atlantic on one side and the Merdja Zerga Lagoon on the other, owes its name to its patron saint. While it is mainly visited for its endless beaches, its rich birdlife - it is home to thousands of birds - will delight birding enthusiasts.

You’ll drive to Rabat and spend one night at a beautiful Arab-Andalusian riad, right in the heart of the medina. All the rooms share the same refinement and décor that matches the history of the place. You can also enjoy a large terrace, a swimming pool and a spa.
See and do - Learn about the history of King Mohammed V and his mausoleum - admire the Hassan Tower, the only remnant of a vast mosque - wander through the souks in search of handmade items - stroll through the calm of the Jardin d’Essai botanique - discover a city often overshadowed by Casablanca or Marrakech, though unfairly so…

You’ll drive to El Jadida, a former Portuguese trading post built in 1506, with a history deeply tied to the sea. In addition to strolls through the narrow streets of the medina, ringed by ochre ramparts, or around the Church of the Assumption, you can enjoy pleasant beaches here. As a side note, the minaret of the Great Mosque once served as a lighthouse for ships.
You’ll then drive to Oualidia and settle in for two nights in a house that honours great writers. Here, you’ll immerse yourself in the world of Hemingway, Marguerite Yourcenar or Jack London. A hammock set up on the beach, rooms styled like sophisticated fishermen’s cabins, dotted with blue fabrics and wood bleached by the sea spray, a stunning pool: this stopover promises a timeless getaway.

See and do - Admire the beautiful crescent-shaped lagoon, meet Marrakchis and Casablancans who come for the weekend, try water activities such as surfing, fishing and sailing, and enjoy seafood with your feet in the sand…

You’ll drive to Essaouira and return the car. Relax on the long stretch of fine sandy beach or take a “sardine break” on the pier, try surfing, windsurfing or kitesurfing - in Essaouira, life moves to the rhythm of the sea. Renowned for its beauty and way of life, the city also captivates with its bohemian spirit and the charm of the winding alleys in its medina.
Settle in for two nights in an elegant riad. Behind an impressive door, there are two patios: one of stone and lime, the other touched with Klein blue. They reveal three floors, wrought iron walkways and balconies, lemon wood furniture, antique chests and pottery. The highlight: the maze of terraces perched in the azure of old Mogador.

Scheduled - A walk in the forest of argan trees, an endemic species of south-western Morocco, a legendary tree and true emblem of the Essaouira region. Next, we’ll visit an argan oil cooperative - a chance to watch the careful work done by women to extract the precious oil. Finally, a Berber family will welcome you into their home for a traditional tasting of hot mint tea.

Private transfer to the airport and international return flight.
