The very essence of a romantic getaway, islands are for many the dream destination for a honeymoon or a couples holiday. And if you are going to pursue this dream, why not make it two for one? Different yet so similar, the sister islands of Reunion and Mauritius are only about 230 km (143 miles) apart. You can make the short hop by plane. One island is experienced from within and is home to extreme landscapes. Known as the "intense island", it ignites passion and a taste for adventure. The other comes close to aesthetic perfection. With its pristine sand fringed with swaying coconut palms, crystal-clear sea and magical sunsets it’s the superb embodiment of an island paradise. Together, they form an ideal pair to combine active exploration with restorative relaxation. The common thread is the unique accommodation selected for its magical setting and its character, perfect for unwinding. All the travel arrangements are taken care of: flights, personalised meet and greet, private transfers and car rental in Reunion. You have the contact details of our concierges if there are any slight hitches or last-minute requests.

Different sides of Reunion

The journey begins gently along the west coast, heads south, then sets course for the east. Saint-Gilles first of all and oceanfront accommodation to start the journey on a hedonistic note. Then the Wild South at Petite-Ile, staying between sugarcane fields and vetiver plantations. A hotel combining comfort, elegance and respect for nature awaits you here. To restore balance to bodies and minds unsettled by travel, a ritual treatment for two is already booked at the spa. Crossing the central plain, you reach the windward coast and Sainte-Anne. The final stop in Reunion is a cocoon of stone and wood, where the architecture and the spa blend perfectly with the verdant surroundings. Here, you are enjoy a delicious gourmet dinner that celebrates local flavours. The carefully chosen stop-offs, smooth travel arrangements and flexible pace awaken all your senses and prioritise discovery. The rental car and app loaded with our recommendations help you to feel truly free and ensure you miss nothing essential.

Discreet luxury in Mauritius

A 45-minute flight takes you to Mauritius. You head east to stay in Trou d’Eau Douce. Your retreat combines wellness and slow living with the intention of creating balance in the body and soul. The architecture blends Asian inspiration with ancient Indian philosophy, all in a resolutely contemporary setting. The suites are superb and the villas are immense. Culinary delights await you in the various restaurants, where you can savour fish and seafood right on the beach. One such experience is a lunch at Ilot Mangenie, which is reserved for hotel clients. Before you leave, take a look at the spa menu, where each treatment enhances the feeling of getting away from it all and takes you on a journey within your journey.

Itinerary

100% customisable for you

Overnight flight, arrival the next day.

After a welcome at the airport, pick-up the rental car and drive along the coast to Saint-Gilles. Settle in for two nights in an enchanting setting, facing one of the island’s most beautiful beaches. Elegant Creole villas nestle in a tropical garden, just a short walk from the lagoon. The rooms are a celebration of refinement and modernity. The shades of beige, touches of turquoise, and Starck-designed armchairs come together harmoniously. Everything has been arranged so that everyone can enjoy their favourite activities: a long golden sandy beach, a crystal-clear swimming pool, water sports, a spa, and more.

Things to see and experience - Mix things up between Roches Noires beach on the edge of the town centre, Boucan-Canot beach to the north, and the white sand beaches of Ermitage shaded by casuarina trees - enjoy peaceful swims in the lagoon - spot remarkable marine life, including whales in the autumn - visit the Réunion Aquarium to continue exploring - stroll the paths of the Garden of Eden, a botanical garden that truly lives up to its name…
Optional extra: Hike in the Mafate cirque with a private guide.

Head southwest, continuing along the coast all the way to Petite-Ile. This name comes from the rocky islet - the only satellite of Réunion - which rises about 50 metres (164 feet) from the shore. This narrow strip of lava, almost inaccessible by boat, has become a natural sanctuary for tropicbirds, brown noddies, wedge-tailed shearwaters and other species of seabirds - all protected by the Coastal Conservatory. Stay for two nights just a short walk from Grande Anse beach - your hotel overlooks it. This hotel blends elegance and serenity, modern lines and traditional materials. It’s a visual triumph, with a superb spa and a swimming pool offering a splendid view.
Already planned - a ritual treatment for two. The spa at your hotel is a place outside time. Its refined world brings together all the treasures of the Indian Ocean: coconut scents, ylang-ylang from Mayotte, vanilla and vetiver… The ritual treatment begins with a fragrant steam bath, followed by a mineral treatment with semi-precious stones. You are then served a fresh fruit cocktail or a glass of champagne to share in a flower bath.

Head to the east of the island at last, and towards the windward coast. Less than two hours by car are needed via the Plaine des Cafres and des Palmistes, which separate the two Pitons. You’ll be staying for two nights at 650 metres (2133 feet) above sea level, above Sainte-Anne, right in the heart of the countryside. The hotel's stone and wood architecture blends harmoniously with the surrounding landscapes, while preserving them at the same time.
Already planned - a dinner at your hotel's restaurant. With a panoramic view of the Indian Ocean, the location blends mineral and plant elements, stone and tropical flowers, and precious woods. The chef offers a gourmet escape with a six-course tasting menu.

Return journey to Saint-Denis, return the rental car at the airport, and flight to Mauritius. Welcome on arrival and private transfer to the bay of Trou d'Eau Douce, then check in for five nights on the island’s east coast, where your hotel combines Eastern and Western elements. Azure waters stretch all around, as far as the eye can see. Each room opens onto the ocean through large picture windows, and some have direct access to the beach. Every day, you experience the legendary Mauritian hospitality. Off the coast, two beautiful islands are just a few minutes away by boat - Îlot Mangénie, reserved for hotel guests, and Île aux Cerfs, home to a golf course designed by Bernhard Langer.

Protected by both the lagoon and a bay, Trou d’Eau Douce is a charming village. To continue your explorations, you can head to the south of the island, which is less frequented than the north. Bel Ombre is a world-renowned scuba diving spot where just a mask and snorkel will transport you into the silent world beneath the waves. Le Morne Brabant is a UNESCO World Heritage mountain and a site of remembrance for Mauritius’s colonial history.
Already planned - Lunch at the restaurant on Îlot Mangénie. Generous seafood platters and freshly caught fish arrive straight at your table. Enjoy them with fresh cocktails and local rums to complete the experience. The idyllic setting around you makes this lunch a moment out of time.
Optional extra: Helicopter flight over the island.

Private transfer to the airport and return international flight via Réunion. Overnight flight, arrival the next day.

À la carte

This suggested itinerary can be customisable down to the smallest detail, including duration, stops and content. An à la carte menu of experiences is also available to create a journey that reflects who you are.

Hiking in the heart of Mafate

A private guide will lead you into the heart of the Mafate cirque, which is accessible only on foot or by helicopter. Immense ramparts encircling lush valleys, jagged ridges, diverse vegetation and a remarkable tranquillity lend this secluded cirque an unrivalled beauty. The hike begins at Deux-Bras, which you reach by 4x4 from Rivière des Galets. You then climb towards the Bras d’Oussy footbridge and the village of Cayenne, where a well-deserved picnic is in order. Throughout this ascent the panoramic view is sumptuous. The return to Deux-Bras is via Rivière des Galets before meeting up with the 4×4 again.

Helicopter flight

45 minute flight over the most beautiful sites of Mauritius: Port-Louis, Tamarin, Ile Aux Benitiers, Le Morne, the Underwater Waterfall, Chamarel, Rivière Noire, Tamarin Falls, Le Pouce, Pieter Both and more. This is one of the best ways to experience the island's many facets, between the volcanic land and the turquoise sea.
