Itinerary highlights

  • Experience the Swiss winter as a privileged guest and unpack your bags in a legendary palace in the heart of the Alps: what a luxury!
  • Zurich through the eyes of a local, snowshoeing in the Grisons, sunset at the summit: it’s all already planned.
  • Rolls Royce transfers, skiing in St. Moritz: “smart” options
  • Concierge service, mobile app, our recommendations: travel the Voyageurs way
As soon as it is covered with a blanket of snow, Switzerland takes on an entirely different appearance. The two stops on this snowy journey each, in their own way, introduce you to this country that winter suits so well. The city of Zurich and its reflection in the lake will start you off. In a small village atmosphere, life flows peacefully, to the rhythm of strolls along cobbled streets where chic boutiques follow one after another. Beyond that, the city surprises with its rich cultural offerings: in addition to its museums (the Rietberg Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts), there are numerous festivals such as the International Film Festival or Food Zurich, organised around local gastronomy. After admiring the mountains from below, it would be a shame to resist any longer: head for the heights. The journey continues in Saint Moritz, immersing you even further in a snowy postcard scene. The resort, born with winter tourism in the mid-19th century, is gradually gaining in reputation. To such an extent that it was chosen twice to host the Olympic Games - in 1928 and 1948. Its ski area (350 km [217 miles] of slopes, making it one of the largest in Europe) is truly enchanting. But skiing does not have a monopoly on happiness in the mountains - you can also enjoy the scenery on snowshoes, by funicular, or from your room’s window - yours overlooks the lake, which is a privilege.

Your journey

Your pair of accommodations lives up to the standards of Swiss hospitality and the image one has of it: one, centrally located and full of charm, sits on the riverbank; the other, truly magnificent, is a historic hotel establishment perched at over 1,800 metres (5,900 feet) above sea level. The journey between the two is a timeless experience, during which splendid, pristine panoramas unfold outside the windows. In both Zurich and St. Moritz, we have included a few highlights in your itinerary: a guided tour of Zurich’s historic district with a local, a snowshoe walk with a guide and a funicular ascent to the summit of Muottas Muragl at sunset. In case of an unexpected event or a sudden whim, you can contact our on-site Concierge at any time. In coordination with your travel specialist, the concierge can also help to adapt your trip according to your wishes as it unfolds. For example, if you wished to plan ahead for your ski passes and equipment in Saint-Moritz, or enjoy a massage for two, we would be delighted to organise it for you.

Itinerary

100% customisable for you

Check in for two nights in the heart of Zurich Old Town. Your charming hotel has been renovated, while preserving the features that shaped its history, which began in the 13th century. Inside, modern touches contrast with the original architecture and elegant parquet floors. Make the most of the library and lounge to relax or read. Bahnhofstrasse and its luxury boutiques are just around the corner.

Cosmopolitan Zurich is surrounded by a magnificent natural setting, defined by its great lake and the Limmat River, where locals love to swim in fine weather. In the old town, wind your way between grand townhouses, prestigious shops and renowned chocolatiers.
In your itinerary - Guided tour of Zurich in the footsteps of a local. In the company of Lydia, who adores her city, you’ll set off to discover the historic quarters: the banks of the Sihl and the Limmat, Lindenhof, the inner courtyards of Bahnhofstrasse palaces, Villa Rechberg and its park, and more. The walk is improvised, shaped by your tastes and mood, guided by Lydia’s enthusiasm and her in-depth knowledge, as she shares secrets and anecdotes about this city with its village-like charm.

Train journey to Saint Moritz and three-night stay at an exceptional accommodation. This authentic hotel, known as “the Grand Dame of Swiss hospitality”, is an emblem of the city, welcoming celebrities and royalty since it opened more than 125 years ago. From the guest rooms, the Alpine views are striking. Yours looks out over the lake - a panorama you never tire of. On site, enjoy top-level services: a luxurious spa, a skating rink, a swimming pool, a shopping gallery and a kids’ club.
At the hotel, you’ll love - Swimming a few laps in the indoor pool, perfecting your skating at the ice rink, unwinding in the sauna, or sharing a relaxing experience with a couples massage at the spa.

Surrounded by breathtaking natural scenery, St Moritz is undoubtedly one of the world's chicest ski resorts. Its casino, restaurants and luxury hotels only reinforce its reputation.
In your itinerary - A private snowshoe walk. In winter, Graubünden becomes a postcard come to life. The temptation to immerse yourself in this exceptional setting is irresistible. You can start by putting on your snowshoes - the most convenient, and most authentic, way to roam snowy landscapes. Accompanied by a guide, you can relax in the silence and beauty of Switzerland’s Alpine mountains, lakes and forests.

See & do - Skiing, of course, or try your hand at bobsleigh on the Olympic track, just steps from the hotel; curling on the skating rink; or traditional tobogganing on specially groomed runs, the longest stretching for 2.5 miles (4km) with a 2,165-foot (660 metre) drop. Already included, late afternoon - A funicular ride up to the summit of Muottas Muragl. At over 8,000 feet (2,454 metres) above sea level, you'll enjoy one of the region's finest viewpoints. In the last light of day, the Engadine lakes glow with the warm colours of the setting sun…

Return journey via Zurich.

Skiing in Saint Moritz

Nestled at an altitude of 1,856 metres in the Engadine Valley, the resort of St. Moritz stretches across two levels: on one side, the old village of St. Moritz Dorf, and on the other, St. Moritz Bad, where the thermal springs and more recent buildings are located. Between tranquil lakes and snow-capped peaks, Saint Moritz enjoys the region’s remarkable sunshine. As soon as the season allows, skiers take to the 350 km (217 miles) of slopes in the ski area, which rises up to 3,303 metres in altitude. From beginners to experienced athletes, everyone can ski at their own pace.
