In the north of the small Caribbean island of Saint Barthélemy, Grand-Cul-de-Sac reveals itself as a Caribbean Eden, nestled between turquoise waters and golden sand. Opened in 1986, it was carefully restored after Hurricane Irma and has retained its unique character, blending sophisticated French elegance with the island’s laid-back hospitality. The result is a delightful kaleidoscope of cottages in every colour, scattered between the hillsides and the beach. All around, the gardens are superb, composed largely of bougainvillea, hibiscus and coconut palms, and crossed by pebble paths. The reception is set up in a small Creole hut with a blue roof. As for the rooms, they are all decorated with refinement and simplicity, enhanced by vibrant colours. When it comes to dining, you can choose between two indoor restaurants and a third with your feet in the sand. A tennis court awaits sports enthusiasts, while the swimming pools and the spa - also completely renovated - perfectly complete your relaxation. On either side of the hotel: Grand-Cul-de-Sac Beach and Anse Maréchal Beach. The first overlooks a shallow lagoon protected by a coral reef, where fish and seashells happily coexist. The whole area forms a true aquarium where even beginner divers can learn to observe the underwater fauna and flora.

Since it would be unthinkable not to set out to sea during this stay, we have already arranged a private catamaran outing. You board at the end of the day to enjoy the sunset. At night, the colours of the sky reflecting on the ocean create a beautiful spectacle. The rest of the time, the island’s wild landscapes are your playground. Hiking enthusiasts can set off on a trek through the Morne Reserve, just opposite the hotel. If you have a taste for the sea, head to the lagoon, one of the most popular spots in Saint Barth for water activities such as kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding or snorkelling. The nature reserve is simply spectacular, full of treasures that must be respected. To explore every corner of the island at your own pace, you’ll have a convertible at your disposal.
