The lodge seems to be the cottage re-imagined for the great outdoors and the thrill of big game. British and European ways of life have found new expression here, liberated from any colonial legacy. Today, the lodge is a privileged balcony overlooking the African wilderness. Under canvas, among the trees, and infused with the spirit of manyatta, the accommodations we offer proudly fly the colours of safari. After a rest stop near ,Arushahead to Tarangire National Park for a first encounter with Tanzania’s wildlife treasures. If it’s your first trip, stars in your eyes are guaranteed. Your next stop is the Ngorongoro Crater,, a reserve carved by volcanic activity. The highlight of the journey? Maybe not, because next comes the vast Serengeti: wildebeest migration, the Big Five, Nile crocodiles, Africa in all its majesty. We spare you the choice. Everywhere, the comforts of the lodge blend seamlessly with wildlife excursions brimming with emotion and unforgettable encounters. Next it's time to fly to the Zanzibar archipelago, whose very name makes you want to pack your bags. There, on PembaIsland, we found a special accommodation, the kind you rarely come across. A haven of well-being and refinement in an outstanding setting. White, blue, and green. Turtles, whales. Life in tune with the elements. Simple, affordable, lavish. From the great stirring of antelopes to dolphin races, this journey follows an unforgettable route.

Did you say Pemba?

If little is said about Pemba, the green island, it's because it keeps its lush charms for only a select few. North of Unguja, it reveals its white sands, air scented with clove trees, remarkable tides and its rich coral reef. Here, you can take your time. You can try out a few words of Swahili with the locals, stroll through the ports and markets, or explore the rice fields, pineapple plantations and banana groves. Here is an unusual side of Tanzania, shaped by the trade winds of the Indian Ocean.br />

Your trip

You'll often leave behind rooms that blend exceptional comfort with authentic African charm. From Lake Duluti to the Indian Ocean, via the Ngorongoro Crater, the Tarangire Valley and the Serengeti, life unfolds outdoors at every step. Yet even in the most remote areas, each day ends in unique and elegant lodges. Exceptional service elevates every moment of the trip. And beyond it all, there's the warmth of Africa itself, a generous spirit found nowhere else. In Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti, safaris are already on your itinerary. Typically, one at dawn and one at dusk when the animals are most active. But that’s not all… You also experience a walking safari and a night safari. Encounters with big game are guaranteed. The vehicles are purpose-built for wildlife observation, and the rangers are true masters of their craft. The trackers of the Serengeti, in particular, rightfully deserve their reputation as world champions in their field. All transfers are in a private car with a driver-guide, which is a real advantage. When it comes to meals, there's little to worry about, as full board is almost always included, and the cuisine is top notch. It is also worth noting that airport welcome and assistance with formalities are particularly valuable and help save precious time. Finally, throughout your trip, you will have the contact details of our on-site concierge. If you encounter unexpected issues or have any questions, they guarantee quick and concrete answers. Nothing will ever hold back your African adventure.

Itinerary

100% customisable for you

Upon arrival, meet and greet and private transfer to the hotel. The property is just a few minutes’ drive from the airport. Modern and functional, it offers all the comfort and facilities you need to recover from your flight - including a swimming pool. A good night’s sleep should help you recharge and set you up for a fresh start.

Meet your driver-guide and set off towards Tarangire National Park. Stay two nights in an secluded camp on the edge of the national park, in the Manyara region. It’s comprised of only eight tents, spaced out along a seasonal waterhole to avoid direct views between them, and to maximise the chances of spotting local wildlife. The elephant stands out as the region’s iconic animal. In fact, it’s not uncommon to spot them here, straight from the comfort of the camp. Beneath the canvas, the tent’s interior features wood and opens out onto an extra-large terrace with the vegetation beyond. Not far away are the dining tent, lounge, and all the amenities and services you’ll require, including the traditional evening campfire. The whole area is surrounded by forests and rocky hills, dotted with ancient baobabs and gnarled acacias. Your stay here is on a full board basis.

Included - first safaris in Tarangire National Park. This park is a peaceful, wooded savannah, where it is easy to observe a rich variety of thriving wildlife from your open-top vehicle. There is a vast range of animals: tree-climbing lions, bush elephants, plains zebras, Masai giraffes, impalas, blue wildebeest, buffalo, bushpigs, Cape elands, waterbucks, and more. Birds are also plentiful, along the humid banks of the Tarangire River. In particular, see if you can spot the brilliantly coloured parakeets called lovebirds. Termite mounds are characteristic of African landscapes; when abandoned, they are often occupied by dwarf mongooses. In the northern part of the park, majestic baobabs manifest the symbolic importance of this species. A night-time safari lets you get even closer to the intimate world of wildlife and observe nocturnal creatures - leopards, hippos, porcupines, genets and civets - as they go about their activities. You may well come face to face with hippos grazing by the roadside, and so see them out of the water.

Drive to Ngorongoro and check into a beautiful bungalow on stilts for one night. The dense vegetation doesn’t prevent you from looking out at Lake Magadi with binoculars from your private veranda.
Already included - Ngorongoro Crater safari. The UNESCO-listed Ngorongoro Conservation Area is one of the wonders of the continent. And the highlight is the volcano’s caldera. Almost perfectly round and spanning 20 km (12 miles) across, Ngorongoro Crater is home to remarkable flora and fauna. Both African rhinoceroses are to be found here: the white rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum) and the black rhinoceros (Diceros bicornis). Could it be because Tanzania was once part of Deutsch-Ostafrika that the German names Spitzmaulnashor (pointed-mouth) and Breitmaulnashor (wide-mouth) capture the difference between the two animals better than black and white?
Optional - lunch in the Ngorongoro Crater.

Drive to the Serengeti through the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area - a true microcosm of steppes, grassy plains, marshes, small woods, streams and scattered trees. Given the condition of the roads and tracks, the journey takes 3-4 hours - enough time to admire this wild Eden that is home to many mammal species.
As soon as you arrive at your destination, check in for two nights in a remote part of the national park’s eastern plains. Here, the savannah meets acacia forests, which attract herbivores - elephants, giraffes and warthogs - who in turn draw the great predators - lions, hyenas and leopards. It’s an ideal place for safaris! During the day, set out on foot or by 4x4 to immerse yourself in this raw, wild landscape. Back at the camp, everything is designed for relaxation: comfortable communal areas, a private terrace with views of the bush, and nature that can move freely within the camp. Inside the tents, the vibe is modern, steering clear of safari-style clichés: contemporary furniture, sheer curtains, soft rugs and mirrors. Meals are all taken care of, as full board is included. Enjoy the company of others or dine in the privacy of your terrace, with a local beer or South African wine in hand. The bread and pastries are homemade, and so is the campfire where people gather to chat about the day, as their gaze drifts up towards the stars.

Included - Serengeti safari. This vast park is famous for the great migrations of wildebeest and zebras, which take place across the plains of Tanzania and Kenya in November and July-August. It’s also renowned for the thriving population of Nile crocodiles that make use of the resources of the Grumeti River. The Big Five - simba (lion), tembo (elephant), nyati (buffalo), chui (leopard) and nyeusi kifaru (black rhinoceros) - are all here. The chui is elusive, but the Serengeti is one of the best reserves to spot it. This is also true for the duma (cheetah) and mbwa mwitu (African wild dog). Antelope provide carnivorous predators with prey in abundance. Next come hyenas, various vultures and marabou storks - the indispensable cleaners. From the top of your 4x4, discover a world that is very well organised! A walking safari is another option, which lets you focus on more modest, yet equally essential wildlife, such as insects, reptiles and more.

Transfer to the airport, then flight to Pemba Island. This island sits off the east coast of Africa in the Zanzibar archipelago. Less touristic than its neighbour, Pemba Island is also more authentic and untamed, with a mountainous centre. Private transfer from the airport to your new accommodation to stay for four nights. The property was conceived by Mauritian landscape designer Ashok Sungkur, and offers refined suites and villas, scattered between a private beach and dense vegetation, set around a tropical pond planted with water lilies. What is most remarkable about this place is the sense of harmony and well-being. It’s an invitation to slow down and take your time. The cuisine is all about freshness and delicate spices, with the sea providing the main ingredients. Dine on the beach, in the dining room, in the gardens, or even on the small island opposite the hotel, in complete privacy.

Between beaches and mangroves, Pemba Island is the ideal place to pause and unwind. It’s also a diver’s paradise, with many sites teeming with colourful fish just a fin’s reach away. Mainly known for its fishing and as Tanzania’s largest producer of cloves, the island is a stunning Instagram-worthy setting. On the horizon, traditional fishing boats dance together on the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean.
Days drift by peacefully on the sand, by the pool, or at the hotel spa (the Balinese massage is deeply revitalising). For active travellers: explore the seabed, forest or cultural life of Pemba Island, take part in all kinds of water sports, or why not go on another safari? There is something to suit everyone. What to see and do - Walk through Ngezi Forest Reserve, home to the world’s largest bats; explore Manta Reef with just a snorkel and fins; stroll around the ports, wander through the villages and markets; visit the rice paddies, spice gardens, pineapple plantations and banana groves; learn about regional recipes or local crafts.

Private transfer to Pemba airport and a short flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, another private transfer takes you to a charming hotel in the Old Town. Your room is available for you to use until your departure in the evening. In the afternoon, it’s pleasant to cool off in the small ground-floor pool, then wander through the historic heart of the island. Famous for its unique coral stone architecture, it has many narrow, winding alleyways, reflecting Arab, African, Indian and European cultural influences. Next, head to the hotel rooftop to relax in the shaded lounge, with a book in hand, mint tea at your side, and the port as a backdrop. Early in the evening, private transfer to the airport, where you will receive assistance, then have access to the VIP lounge before your direct international return flight. Night spent on the plane, arrival the next day.
