Itinerary highlights

  • Explore Tanzania’s most beautiful parks and the southern beaches of Zanzibar together.
  • Tent camps, bush lodges, Zanzibar palaces, seaside villas: charming accommodations.
  • Three safaris and Manyara Park in private, a tour of Stone Town, dinner by the Indian Ocean: all already included.
  • Airport assistance, a carefully selected driver-guide, on-site Concierge service: the extra Voyageurs touch.
From the high-altitude forest of Ngorongoro to the vast plains of the Serengeti - “where the land runs on without end” in the Maasai language - teeming with millions of animals; from Tarangire National Park, the continent’s largest elephant sanctuary, to Lake Manyara, where birds reign supreme. All of Africa’s wildlife is here - graceful giraffes roaming the plains, sleepy lionesses in the trees, countless wildebeest, zebras and impalas. The emotions stirred by Africa’s untamed beauty never fade. The emotions stirred by Africa’s untamed beauty never fade. Then, off the coast, lies- Zanzibar , once favoured by sultans and a crossroads for great explorers. Here, Africa meets Arabia, the meeting of two worlds which gives the island its charm. When the explorer Morton Stanley landed in Stone Town in 1874, he described it as “the Baghdad, the Isfahan and the Istanbul of East Africa”. Like him, you can’t help but be captivated by the old town's atmosphere. Wandering through its narrow alleyways or watching the broad dhows sail across the ocean inspires dreams of distant horizons. The escape continues south, where you discover a secret and intimate side of Zanzibar. The simplicity of the sand, the sea and the palm trees invites you to surrender to blissful idleness. Or to pursuits that hardly feel like activities at all. The Indian Ocean is perfect for it - just ask the dolphins.

Your trip

From lodges to tented camps, at every stop-off you find unexpected comfort and complete privacy amid vast landscapes. Rooms open onto endless horizons, inviting you to simply surrender to the contemplation of the sublime. The animals pass by, as neighbours. You observe them from a specially equipped private vehicle, featuring a panoramic sunroof for observation and photography, with an onboard radio to receive updates from the rangers. A driver-ranger chosen for their extensive knowledge and exceptional adaptability, will guide you throughout your journey across the continent. The professionalism of the team is your guarantee of a successful safari. In Stone Town, nothing less than a palace awaits you, a shimmering reflection of the city’s history. A private tour with a guide has been scheduled for you: it will allow you to feel the pulse of Zanzibar. As for dinner on the beach, we'll keep that a secret for now. The next four days in the south are devoted to the pleasures of sand and sea, in an establishment that ranks amongst the finest of its kind. This time, a table awaits you on the sand, with your feet dipping into the water. And should an unexpected wish arise, our Concierge is at your service. Catering to the unforeseen is their very purpose.

Itinerary

100% customisable for you

International night flight via Doha, arrival the next day.

Meet your guide-driver and set off in a private vehicle (a 4x4 adapted for safari) towards Tarangire National Park.
Already included - Tarangire National Park. This national park is a tranquil, wooded savannah, where it is easy to observe a rich variety of thriving wildlife from your vehicle. Look out for tree-climbing lions, bush elephants, plains zebras, Maasai giraffes, impalas, blue wildebeest, buffalo, bushpigs, Cape elands, waterbucks, and more. Birds are plentiful along the humid banks of the Tarangire River. In particular, see if you can spot the brightly coloured parakeets called “lovebirds”. Termite mounds are characteristic of African landscapes; when abandoned, they are often occupied by dwarf mongooses. In the northern part of the park, majestic baobabs manifest the symbolic importance of this species.
Stay for two nights in a camp that feels like an oasis at the shores of Lake Manyara, with the imposing Great Rift Valley Escarpment rising above. Sleep in a roomy tent, erected on a mninga wood deck, sheltered by a makuti roof, amidst this tawny-coloured savannah landscape dotted with baobab trees. The tent is furnished lightly in wood and wrought iron, natural fibre rugs, a few woven baskets, a botanical print, and an oil lamp.

Included - Manyara National Park Excursion. The national park is located on the western shore of the lake, at the foot of the western horst of the Great Rift. Its ecosystems are highly diverse within a relatively small area. Thousands of pink flamingos are the main feature along the banks. The national park is above all a first-rate bird sanctuary, with long-crested eagles, grey-headed kingfishers, silvery-cheeked hornbills, hamerkops, spur-winged geese, grey crowned cranes, and so on. Also on your agenda is a romantic picnic in the park.

Drive to Karatu.
On your itinerary - Ngorongoro Crater. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a jewel in Africa’s crown. The depressed area of the volcano, spanning 10 km (6 miles) across, is home to a large number of animals. On the lakes, flamingos sometimes gather by the thousand. Pelicans and yellow-billed storks with their red masks, get used to it. So do the buffalo, enjoying thermal baths on the muddy banks; and the hippos, splashing around and competing fiercely during the mating season. The ostrich, on the other hand, stays on dry ground, keeping an eye on the Grant’s gazelles, Thomson’s gazelles, blue wildebeest and Grant’s zebra. The graceful mountain reedbuck inhabits the slopes, while lions nap in the trees.
Overnight stay in a lodge at the gates of Ngorongoro National Park. You’ll stay in a camp that is as close to nature as possible. The tents are spacious and enjoy the luxury of a private bathroom. The restaurant, in a huge tent, along with the outdoor lounge, are places to socialise or simply unwind after the safari.

Drive to Serengeti National Park and stay two nights in a canvas camp. The tents, set up under acacia trees, are comfortable and well equipped for a bush setting. Here, you are in direct contact with nature, in a pure safari atmosphere. The colours, scents and sounds of the savannah accompany life in the camp, most of which takes place outdoors. Naturally, all the logistics are fully taken care of, and you will be surprised by the quality of the meals prepared in this specific setting. The conditions here do present some challenges, which only goes to highlight the fine quality of the service.

Included - Serengeti National Park. This vast park is famous for the massive migrations of wildebeest and zebras, which take place across the plains of Tanzania and Kenya in November and July-August. It’s also renowned for the thriving population of Nile crocodiles that make use of the resources of the Grumeti River. The Big Five - lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and black rhinoceros - are all here. Antelope provide carnivorous predators with prey in abundance. Next come hyenas, various vultures and marabou storks - the indispensable cleaners. From the top of your all-terrain 4x4, you discover a world that is very well organised!
Optional - the Serengeti from the sky.

Flight to Zanzibar. Meet and greet upon arrival and assistance at the airport. Private transfer to Stone Town’s Old Quarter and stay overnight in the former palace of Princess Kholle, daughter of the island’s first sultan. The building dates from the 1860s and elegantly combines Omani and Creole styles. Carefully restored, it revives a way of living that’s open to both near and far, including a Directoire-style lounge with a Swahili vibe. The colours of the walls and fabrics are reminiscent of Indian spices. The bedrooms interpret all this in a more intimate setting. You’ll be glad to slip into the pleasant waters of the pool, which blends well into its environment. From the tea room on the rooftop terrace, overlooking the maze of Stone Town and the ocean beyond, enjoy the cool trade winds and watch the slow drift of the dhows. The princess used to receive her guests here, and the hotel still reflects this tradition of hospitality. You’ll also enjoy a delicious Zanzibar spice massage for two and an intimate lantern-lit dinner, worthy of a tale from The Arabian Nights.
Optional - sunset cruise and dinner off the coast of Stone Town.

Included - private guided tour of Stone Town. The day begins with a stroll through the city, where you’ll see the House of Wonders (1883, museum of history and culture), the Omani fort, the old dispensary, the Sultan’s palace, Saint Joseph’s Cathedral, the Freddie Mercury Museum… and the rhythm, colours and scents of daily life as it unfolds.
Then, you’ll have a private transfer south and four nights beside one of Tanzania’s most beautiful beaches. Contemporary architecture with an East Coast vibe, and decor featuring dark wood and white cotton are to be found in this chic, waterside property. Each bungalow has its own private pool, but don’t forget the large infinity pool overlooking the ocean! Comfort is optimal and the service is excellent. Both restaurants serve the flavours of the archipelago, as well as some Mediterranean dishes. Venturing into the gardens, you’ll discover the spa. Professionalism and glamour reign supreme here, and do wonders for your physical and mental energy.

There are bicycles for exploring the park and surrounding area. On the beach, pedal boats, kayaks and light catamarans are available. The hotel organises a daily snorkelling session, and yoga classes are available on request. Kitesurfing and diving are popular activities here. The coral reef at Prison Island (Changuu), for example, is a stunning dive site. If you spend some time out on the water, there’s a real chance you’ll see dolphins surface and play around the boat. Of course, just as with safaris and spotting the Big Five, encountering dolphins is not guaranteed and always involves an element of luck. But when conditions are right, you can even join them in their element. In Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park, look out for Zanzibar red colobus - this charming leaf-eating primate is the emblem of environmental protection in the archipelago. Or you may simply decide to surrender to the delights of southern hemisphere relaxation.
Already planned - a romantic dinner on the beach, a wonderful way to end this trip for two.

Private transfer to the airport and international return flight. Night spent on the plane, arrival the next day.

À la carte

This suggested itinerary can be customisable down to the smallest detail, including duration, stops and content. An à la carte menu of experiences is also available to create a journey that reflects who you are.

The Serengeti from above

You wake at dawn, and then you rise to soar above it all. A hot air balloon is the ideal way to witness the savannah come to life at dawn. It’s the moment when night owls and early birds cross paths. They go to drink, reclaiming their territories. Some graze on the lush vegetation, giving others the chance to enjoy hearty feasts. The balloon rises - sweeping views - and descends - intimate details. It opens up new perspectives and unforgettable encounters. In itself, it's a unique experience, set against the park’s backdrop of untouched, breathtaking beauty. Back on the buffalo plain, the balloonists have breakfast.

Dinner on board a dhow in Zanzibar

A sunset sail on a traditional dhow off Stone Town is a truly romantic Swahili experience. The breeze fills the dhow sail, the sea and the city glow golden, and an exquisite feast of fresh seafood and delicate Zanzibar dishes is served, one course after another.

Finish the journey in Mozambique.

As an alternative to Zanzibar, other beaches on the African continent or nearby islands offer the perfect setting for the second part of your trip. If you choose to stay on the mainland, you can enjoy a gentle change of atmosphere by heading to the beaches of Mozambique. While the coast offers many charming beaches, our preference might be the charming haven set on the Nhamabue Peninsula, in the south of the country. Thatched roofs and wooden structures blend gently between the ocean and the mangrove. The minimalist interiors showcase natural materials and offer wide panoramas. The founders of the lodge spent years working to forge a deep bond with the land and the community. The story of this place is one of mutual belonging, where pride in African culture blends with commitment to an ethical model of tourism.
