100% customisable for you
Spend the night on board and arrive the next day.
Private transfer to Ubud. It is here, in the highlands of Bali, that the island's artistic traditions are most alive; painters and sculptors have settled here in large numbers and have not entirely devoted their brushes or chisels to “souvenirs”. You can appreciate with childlike wonder seeing the tradition of kite flying continue. You can visit the bird park, which covers two hectares of gardens and is home to the largest collection of birds in Indonesia - 250 species that live in freedom and are easy to approach. They deliver on all their tropical promises of colour and shape. All around, rice fields have shaped the world of the local inhabitants for generations, who have beautifully crafted them into terraces undulating across the hills.
Stay for three nights amidst these stunning landscapes, in a joglo, a traditional Javanese wooden house with a very recognisable roof shape. The interior, also made of wood, is in keeping with the exterior. The spaces are semi-open, so as not to lose any of the surrounding panoramic views but also so as not to sacrifice privacy. The atmosphere is as intimate as you could wish for. The superb communal swimming pool with views of the rice fields, lined with palm trees, invites you to cool off while enjoying the beauty of the place - unless you prefer the tranquillity and comfort of your private swimming pool in the garden.
According to tradition, the island, its fertile lands and lush vegetation do not belong to humans but to the gods. The Balinese therefore have a duty to share what they have been given. “Dari mana?”, “Mau ke mana?”, “Where are you from?”, “Where are you going?”: despite the crowds, the locals remain hospitable and open to others. In Ubud, you can enjoy the splendour of the ceremonies, the piercing rhythm of the gamelans, the heady scent of frangipani flowers and the sweet aroma of clove cigarettes.
Things to see and do - Stroll through the centre of Ubud and soak up the bustle of the streets, particularly Jalan Raya Ubud, the main thoroughfare, which is lined with shops, restaurants, galleries, museums and temples (Pura Gunung Lebah, Saraswati, Royal Palace); Explore the rice fields surrounding the town by following the rice field trek and sample some local specialities in the warungs that line it. Attend a traditional Balinese show in a temple, combining dance, song and theatre; Take a pleasant stroll through the maze of stalls at the night market, where the hustle and bustle of street vendors mingles with the aromas of spicy dishes and bursts of laughter.
Optional - Take a private Balinese cooking class in the rice fields.
Private transfer to Belimbing.
Already planned along the way - The little-known wonders of Jatiluwih. Beyond the green rice fields, Jatiluwih is also a community that you will encounter before diving into hot springs, briefly walking the jungle trails and sharing a delicious meal in a warung, a small local family business.
Upon arrival in Belimbing, check in for a three-night stay at an eco-lodge. Committed to respecting the environment and local communities, the ecolodge welcomes its guests in the heart of nature. You will stay in a villa perfectly equipped to accommodate the whole family, giving everyone privacy and independence. Moving between indoors and outdoors is easy, allowing you to fully enjoy the surroundings: rice fields stretching as far as the eye can see, a swimming pool set in a lush tropical garden and, on the horizon, the Balinese volcanoes standing guard.
On your itinerary - A private cycling tour from Batukaru to Jatiluwih on electric bikes. Starting from the Batukaru temple, you set off on an 8.5-mile (14 km) ride through jungle, giant bamboo forests, vast valleys and peaceful little villages. Your destination: the Jatiluwih region, renowned for the beauty of its terraced rice fields, cultivated on the mountainside for centuries. Lunch is also part of the adventure.
Optional - Canyoning in the Belimbing area and hiking with a private guide.
Transfer and ferry ride to the Mount Ijen region, which is to the east of Java Island, then stay for one night at the foot of the volcano, surrounded by lush plantations. The traditional Javanese-style accommodation blends in perfectly with its surroundings. Guests like its friendly atmosphere, comfortable rooms and art gallery, which displays a permanent collection of photographs. The restaurant also serves local cuisine. Here, you can recharge your batteries before setting off to climb the volcanic heights of Mount Ijen. Its vast crater lake is the destination for visiting explorers. At dawn, you climb through the rainforest to the bare edge of the crater, at an altitude of 2,300 metres. On the way, you pass sulphur porters carrying impressive loads. Once you get above the fog, the view is superb and the spectacle almost unreal. Thick white smoke rises from the turquoise lake, while strange blue lava flows seem to trickle down the crater's edges.
Transfer, return to Bali by ferry and another transfer to Amed.
Already planned along the way - A stop at a turtle hatchery whose mission is to involve locals in the preservation of sea turtles by encouraging them to report and collect nests found on nearby beaches. Another stop follows for lunch at a local warung.
Arrival in Amed, where you will stay for three nights. Your latest family-friendly accommodation is a villa with hotel services - the best of both worlds. It is perched on the side of a small mountain, with Lipah Bay below, which is easily accessible on foot. Your spacious villa has its own swimming pool. Although you have to climb a little to get there, your effort is rewarded with an exceptional panoramic view of both the mountain and the sea. In the distance, on a clear day, you can even see the neighbouring island of Lombok. As the establishment welcomes no more than 40 privileged guests, the atmosphere is peaceful and intimate. Your infinity pool with sea views invites you to laze around at any time of day, and if you're not feeling relaxed enough, the expert hands of the masseuses at the spa will remedy that. At mealtimes, if you don't feel like cooking, you can choose between two restaurants, one fine-dining and the other more relaxed. The menus are varied and cater to all ages. Finally, when the sun sets, head to the lounge to admire the majestic Mount Agung, whose summit seems to glow in the golden light.
Amed is one of the best diving spots in Bali, with or without a tank. It is also a small village with a laid-back, bohemian vibe, stretching along a beach that is much less crowded than other places on the coast. It's a pleasure to stroll between swims or sea trips, walking along the small sandy paths, then settling comfortably into a beanbag or on the sand to watch the sunset.
On your itinerary - Private snorkelling session in Tulamben Bay. Accompanied by an instructor, you will explore the bay's seabed. Beneath the surface, you will discover a spectacular display of corals, sponges, sea turtles, sharks, squid, octopuses, starfish, eels, manta rays and numerous species of colourful fish. A wonderful parallel universe accessible with just a mask and snorkel.
Optional - Sunset cruise and barbecue; scuba diving in Amed Bay and coral restoration on the reef.
Private transfer to Sidemen. On the way, a lunch break is planned on the peaceful Virgin Beach, one of the few white sand beaches in Bali.
Arrival in Sidemen where you will stay for two nights in a detached house that also offers hotel services, which has many benefits. The villa offers privacy and independence, thanks to a fully equipped kitchen, a private swimming pool and terrace overlooking lush hills; fresh, simply decorated interiors and, the icing on the cake, semi-open bathrooms that give you the impression of showering or bathing in the heart of nature. The hotel features a restaurant, also perched above the trees, offering a varied menu with local and international influences, dishes suitable for less adventurous palates or vegetarians, and an impressive cocktail list. There is also a spa offering delightful massages and treatments, surrounded by a beautiful tropical garden.
On your itinerary - Rafting on the Telaga Waja River. Fully equipped, you will all board a raft in the company of an experienced guide to tackle the white waters of the Telaga Waja. The route is punctuated by a few rapids and calmer stretches as it winds through lush surroundings. Along the way, you can even enjoy views of the terraced rice fields of the Karangasem region. This thrilling experience ends with a pleasant lunch on the riverbank.
See and do - The surroundings of Sidemen. Whether through rice fields or flower and vegetable plantations (depending on the season), there are many routes to choose from starting from Sidemen. On the way, be sure to stop at the market. You can also admire the famous yellow bridge at Tukad Yeh Unda or visit the Sadus ceramics factory, which is the guardian of a unique craft. And if, by chance, you see a ‘weaving’ sign in front of a workshop, don't hesitate! Inside, a local weaver may well share with you the secrets of Sidemen songket, an exceptional textile with instantly recognisable patterns and colours.
Private transfer to Jimbaran, where you will stay for four nights. The estate that welcomes you has managed to recreate the atmosphere of a typical Balinese village in the heart of a beautiful tropical sanctuary, while ensuring guests every comfort. You will stay in a magnificent detached villa with refined decor, perfectly combining contemporary and traditional Balinese architecture. Inside, there is a fully equipped kitchen, a cosy lounge and a dining room opening onto the grounds and a beautiful private swimming pool with terrace. In this dream setting, which is as intimate as you could wish for, you can spend peaceful days between the pool, the spa and the restaurant - this is a charming joglo where subtle Indonesian cuisine is served, superbly presented and prepared with fresh ingredients and the catch of the day.
A superb crescent of sand stretching out at the entrance to the Bukit Peninsula, Jimbaran Bay is an ode to tropical languor. A colourful ballet of fishing boats and women carrying baskets full of fish, small warungs where the catch of the day is marinated in garlic and lime before being grilled. And the sunset...
See and do - The beaches of Uluwatu. While surfers are the first to enjoy them, the beaches of southern Bali are also little paradises where you can spread out your towel and let time slip away. There's Padang Padang, which is discreet and hidden at the bottom of a cliff, Suluban, which reveals itself after passing through a cave, and Nyang Nyang, which is often deserted but is worth the effort after a good 20 minutes' walk through the jungle. For wave lovers, head to Bingin and its rollers, which are considered the best on the island. And for a change of pace, there's also Balang.
On your itinerary - Private surfing lesson. Its large golden sandy beach and steady waves make Jimbaran a favourite playground for surfers of all ages and abilities. During a private session supervised by an instructor, you and your family can learn (or improve) this legendary sport.
Optional - Snorkelling around Nusa Penida.
Transfer to Denpasar airport and international return flight. Spend the night on board and arrive the next day.
