Itinerary highlights

  • Find pleasure in diversity, from the refined effervescence of Singapore to the natural elegance of Bali.
  • A colonial-style institution, a designer cabin between jungle and ocean, a private villa above the treetops: your accommodations, all sublime.
  • Singapore by night, surf lessons, secret river, Bali in the footsteps of a local, purification ritual… it’s all already planned!
  • Carbon absorption, mobile app, private transfers, Concierge service, our personalised recommendations: travel with Voyageurs.
When planning a trip, travellers usually try to shorten waiting times, unnecessary formalities and, above all, stopovers. However, when these highlights are unavoidable, the best approach is to make the most of them. How? By turning them into an “other” journey. That’s what we offer here: a two-night stopover in Singapore, giving you a chance to truly “land”, let your body adjust to the time difference, and ease gently into the traveller’s mindset… Because the city-state far more than a forest of skyscrapers. It is also a garden city, a crossroads of many cultures - Chinese, British, Malay - which can be found in the generous dishes served by the hawker centres, ambassadors of local street food. Ultimately, Singapore feels like a gigantic art gallery where Art Deco, contemporary, Asian and many other styles are expressed. In the blink of an eye, we then fly on to Bali. You will start in  Pekutatan,, on the south coast, between black sand and tropical forest. Here you will enjoy an unspoilt natural environment that is surprisingly uncrowded, where well-informed surfers come to ride the waves, where turtles lay their eggs, and where aesthetic-minded travellers hardly know where to turn their heads. Bali casts its spell. Trade the beach for the rice fields of the lush Ubud region, a haven for renowned artists and artisans, and a wonderful green sanctuary where you can still sometimes feel alone in the world. Wander between temples and sacred waterfalls, swims and massages, contemplation and culinary experiences - Ubud is home to some true gastronomic gems. Disconnect, reconnect. And return home transformed.

Your trip

While Singapore and Bali have undeniable appeal, your sublime accommodations play a major role in this journey. Because they weave a subtle connection with their surroundings - the city, the beach, and the jungle. Because they offer an excellent level of comfort and service without tipping into ostentatious luxury. And above all, they possess character and a refined aesthetic of their own. Spas, bars, restaurants, pools, yoga, meditation - each of your accommodations has plenty to keep you occupied day and night. But how can you resist the call of Singapore and the Island of the Gods? That’s why we’ve taken the initiative to add some wonderful experiences to your itinerary, perfectly complementing the dreamlike atmosphere of your holiday retreats. With by a private guide, you explore Singapore at night, when the temperature drops and the lights make the skyscrapers shimmer. Your companion knows the city inside out and can tailor the walk to your wishes - hidden spots, trendy areas, temples, or traditional neighbourhoods. In Bali, take a surfing lesson at a renowned spot near Pekutatan. Then spend a day in the footsteps of a Balinese local, who introduces you to the island’s customs and traditions, its arts, as well as its gastronomy and spirituality. Finally, you follow a local to a sacred waterfall, where you take part in preparing offerings and in a purification ceremony. Quite a programme. Your transfers are arranged by plane with convenient flight times, or by private vehicle with driver. And for last-minute whims and minor setbacks, you can count on our on-site Concierge, reachable at any time during your trip..

Your addresses

Singapore- Your accommodation in Singapore is a colonial institution whose charm will stay with you long after your visit. Service is impeccable, the atmosphere hushed, the comfort optimal, and the cuisine refined, even Michelin-starred. Your room, overlooking a courtyard lined with royal palm trees, has retained its exotic wooden floor, English engravings, Victorian washbasin and elegant taps. Travel back in time, protected by a surprising calm in the very heart of the city. While tourists jostle just a few steps away, you can relax on your private terrace, at the bar with a cocktail inspired by the great authors of past centuries, in the beautiful patio adorned with tropical plants, at the spa or by the panoramic pool.

Pekutatan On the Balinese coast, you settle in between the beach and the forest, in a hotel deeply committed to eco-responsible practices. Your room, with its cabin-like feel, floats with grace above the palm trees. You wake up to the sound of the ocean, a delightful invitation to surf or swim. Permaculture, yoga, swimming pool - a modern (and de-growth-inspired) approach to travel.

Ubud - Your final accommodation, in the centre of the island, works its subtle but irresistible charm. A paradise where vegetation guarantees privacy and calm. Your private villa overlooks seven lush peaks rolling across the horizon, and a small pool. At the foot of this magical retreat flow the Ayung River and its wonderful waterfall.

Itinerary

100% customisable for you

Night on board, arrival the next day.

Upon arrival, transfer by private vehicle to your hotel, just a few minutes’ walk from Marina Bay. This is a centuries-old establishment epitomising colonial charm. Its white façade has not changed since it was regularly frequented by Joseph Conrad and Somerset Maugham. The ambiance is decidedly retro! The rooms overlooking the courtyard adorned with royal palm trees, have kept their exotic wood flooring, English engravings, Victorian washbasins and elegant taps. The surrounding area is a natural tourist hub but once you pass through the gate, the hotel is solely for residents. Sophisticated, Michelin-starred restaurants to whet the appetite together with a panoramic pool overlooking skyscrapers, and the ultimate spa.

To see and do: Stroll through Emerald Hill, the Peranakan district, where charming colonial houses have been restored and now house restaurants and boutiques. Walk down Orchard Road - a favourite weekend haunt for families, and follow the green trail that winds through the heart of the city and discover some of the world’s finest butterflies. Cross the suspended walkway above the canopy of the ancient forest in the MacRitchie Nature Reserve and take in the view from the Singapore Flyer, the city’s giant Ferris wheel.
Next on the itinerary: Singapore by night
. Accompanied by a local guide, explore this vibrant city, pulsating with energy as night falls. Your guide knows Singapore like the back of their hand, directing you to all the fashionable venues, hidden gems, street food stalls and markets. You can do as much or as little as you want. Tailor your stay to suit you! Take a walk around the Gardens by the Bay or Clarke Quay, where former warehouses and junk yards have been transformed into shops, restaurants and nightclubs. Why not try chicken and rice at one of the “Hawker” centres - a firm favourite with Singapore’s workforce. How about a visit to Parkview Square (DP Architects, 2002), which marks a striking resurgence of Art Deco. Or the Dravidian gopura (1925) marking the entrance to the Sri Mariamman Hindu Temple, adorned with colourful statues, or Chinatown, where Taoist temples flank the many restaurants.

Transfer by private vehicle to the airport, then flight to Denpasar. Transfer to Pekutatan where you will spend 3 nights with views of a black volcanic sand beach against a palm jungle backdrop. The cabin-style rooms are perched on elegant wooden structures floating above the trees. Wake up to the sight of the canopy and the gentle sounds of the ocean. While away the days surfing and practising yoga poolside. The restaurant’s cuisine pays homage to nature with local, seasonal dishes offering a delicious vegan take on Balinese gastronomy. Delicious fruit and vegetables are grown using the permaculture technique. An eco-friendly approach is adopted. Solar panels power the property paired with a zero-waste policy.

Pekutatan is a delightful coastal village nestling between an endless beach and tropical forest. A well-preserved natural environment with minimum footfall. Expert surfers come here for the waves - especially at Medewi Beach. Turtles lay their eggs here and visitors bask in the serenity and gentle way of life.
The itinerary includes surfing lessons for beginners and improvers who can test their skills on waves suitable for all levels.

The itinerary includes a stroll along the banks of the “secret river”. Meet your guide and their family, originally from Pekutatan. Meet them in their own home as this mysterious and little known river flows right past their front door. Enjoy a 20-minute walk through the jungle where row-upon-row of trees eventually give way to crystal-clear waters. Enjoy a pleasant swim in this magical setting before a riverbank lunch punctuated by the gentle lapping of the water and hushed murmurs of the forest.

Transfer by private vehicle to the Ubud area where you will spend 3 nights in an exquisite hotel, which is high above sea level and overlooks dense vegetation. In true Balinese style, this accommodation has neither walls nor doors. The idea is to connect with what really matters. Nevertheless, there is no lack of privacy. The accommodation is surrounded by nature with seven majestic peaks dotted along the horizon. You will have your own villa and private pool. The decor is truly magnificent - everything is in wood, Bohemian style, with splendid drapes and traditional rugs. The spacious balcony is the ideal location to day-dream, sleep, read, practise yoga or meditate. In the restaurant, watch the chefs carefully prepare traditional Balinese dishes before your very eyes using predominantly plant-based produce whilst adopting a zero waste policy. The Ayung River and its invigorating waterfall dominate the landscape at the foot of this incredible retreat.

Your itinerary includes a day in the life of a Bali resident. Discover the customs and traditions of this magnificent island through this highly customised tour. Depending on your choice, craft a mystical Balinese sword, paint with a local artist, visit a healer or even make your own skincare products using herbs and exotic spices. Sample a traditional lunch, mingle with the crowd or, conversely, leave the crowd behind. Discover the Island of the Gods and its hidden secrets. Connect with nature, the arts or the spiritual mystic of this location by following in the footsteps of an experienced guide who knows the island like the back of their hand.

Scheduled: walk and purification. Purification, Balinese style, is a ritual that affects both mind and body. Set off on a short walk through a peaceful valley in the company of a local resident until you reach a sacred waterfall. Participate in floral offerings - a daily ritual in the life of the Balinese people - followed by precious moments of meditation and chanting. A moment filled with reverence, regardless of your relationship with spirituality.
Things to see and do
: Wander through central Ubud and lose yourself in the hustle and bustle of the busy streets, especially Jalan Raya Ubud, the main thoroughfare boasting a variety of shops, restaurants, galleries, museums and temples (Pura Gunung Lebah, Saraswati, Royal Palace). Explore the rice fields around the town by following the “Rice Field Trek” and sample local delicacies at the “warungs” (stalls) en route. Visit a temple and enjoy a traditional Balinese show comprising music, theatre and dance. Option: massage in your hotel; dinner in a novel, sustainable restaurant.

Transfer in a private vehicle to Denpasar Airport and international return flight. Night on board, arrival the next day.

À la carte

This suggested itinerary can be customisable down to the smallest detail, including duration, stops and content. An à la carte menu of experiences is also available to create a journey that reflects who you are.

Ubud - Massage at your hotel spa

Nestled among the trees, outdoors yet sheltered from view, your hotel’s spa is a true haven of peace - the ideal place to create a deep connection with nature. The products used during treatments are grown locally, sometimes even in the hotel’s own garden. The techniques used are mainly Indonesian, and wonderfully beneficial.

Ubud - Immersive and responsible Dinner

An ode to nature, small farmers, producers, fishers, and artisans, this restaurant founded by two renowned chefs is devoted to short supply chains, products from its own farm, and sustainable development. On site, you’ll find a mushroom farm - an underground cellar growing the mushrooms used in cooking - a green roof and vegetable garden, a distillery, and a culinary laboratory dedicated to research and development. The tasting menu is a feast - available with cocktail pairings or non-alcoholic beverage options - of around twenty courses. The modern and minimalist space is decorated with recycled or designer furniture. More than just a gourmet meal, this is a true immersion into the world of sustainable dining.

>With a few more days...

Sumba - About a 2-hour flight from Bali, the island of Sumba stands out for its serenity and strong cultural identity. Miraculously spared from tourism, it discreetly reveals its pristine beaches bathed by idyllic waters, its landscapes dotted with tropical forest and hills and populated by villages with conical thatched roofs and façades adorned with buffalo skulls.. Here, you can surf off white sandy beaches, dive among the multicoloured tropical fish of the coral reef, and hike to stunning waterfalls or across valleys and plains where wild horses roam free …

Rote With its deserted, white powdery-sand beaches, crystal-clear sea, and lontar palms, Rote Island, the southernmost of the Sunda Islands, embodies a way of life that is delightfully simple — and deeply inspiring. The sea dominates everything here: fishing and seaweed farming sustain, surfing and kite-surfing provide release, hiking enlightens. Life revolves around swimming, snorkelling, paddle-boarding, and sunsets, all set against a backdrop of bamboo houses and Bajau traditions. A part of Indonesia where few people venture - all the more reason to go!
