Canada is a country that lends itself wonderfully to road trips. Its wild landscapes stretch as far as the eye can see along legendary roads, some of which cross the country from coast to coast. For this trip, we focus on the West and the Canadian Rockies, followed by a short hop to Vancouver: two regions that alone offer a huge variety of landscapes. From the shores of an emerald mountain lake to a white-sand island beach, from the snow-capped peaks of the Rocky Mountains to the wetlands of the marshes, from the sparkling flow of a waterfall to the raging rapids of a river… Your trip begins in Calgary, where you’ll spend a night to recover from your flight and adjust to Canadian time. We then head to Canmore, which stands at the gateway to Banff National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Less well known and less touristy than its neighbour Banff, Canmore offers an authentic way to discover the region, far from the summer crowds: turquoise lakes reflecting the sky and mountains; dense forests of pure, vibrant green; and snow-capped peaks, imposing in their grace and majesty. We are at the foot of the Three Sisters mountains, three peaks named after a romantic legend. Next comes Field, the gateway to Yoho National Park, the smallest park in the Canadian Rockies, which has everything it could possibly need to dazzle visitors: towering rock faces, breathtaking waterfalls and nearly 30 peaks over 3,000 metres (9,800 feet) high. Get ready for a striking contrast as we next discover Jasper National Park, the largest in the country and one of the richest. The eponymous town stands out at the end of the glacier walk, a captivating string of waterfalls and ice giants, forests and shimmering peaks… This is our last stop before the coast, and the beauty of its landscapes will fill you with wonder and leave you in awe - nature, in all its glory. The flight that takes you west is not long enough to shake off that sense of wonder, which persists as you gaze out over the Strait of Georgia. One ferry ride later and you’re greeted by the Sunshine Coast. Halfmoon Bay, with its rushing rivers, forest trails reminiscent of escape, and islands with soft sand and abundant tides - all revealing some of the mysteries of the sea. And finally, Vancouver. A city of sea and forest, a clever blend of nature and urbanism, of trees and skyscrapers. You can easily lose yourself in its parks and streets, and you’ll fall in love with its museums, restaurants and way of life.

Your Trip

Between lakes, waterfalls and forest walks, it’s hard to focus on the logistics of the trip - and that’s perfectly understandable. That’s why we’re here; to take care of everything. We handle your transport, from booking you a rental car that promises freedom and flexibility in the Rockies to your plane and ferry tickets to Vancouver. On a trip like this, accommodation can make all the difference. That’s why we have handpicked exceptional accommodation options for you, letting you stay somewhere unique at each stop of your trip and immerse yourself fully in every location. Incredibly comfortable and resolutely contemporary hotels in the city; charming lodges, ideally located and offering spectacular views of the Rockies; glamping in Canmore and in a secluded spot on the coast, for an immersive experience in nature on the Sunshine Coast. On top of your own exploration in the heart of these natural wonders and well-deserved moments of relaxation, we have planned a delightful canoe excursion on Pyramid Lake. And if, during your trip, you have any sudden ideas or desires, or experience any minor setbacks, you will have the contact details of our on-site Concierge, who will be happy to assist you.

Itinerary

100% customisable for you

On arrival, collect your rental car and settle in for one night at a contemporary property in central Calgary. You can then get settled in your comfortable, well-equipped room, with an understated décor in natural tones. The hotel’s design is consistent throughout, from the spa to the restaurant, where the menu is decidedly meat-focused, serving grilled cuts, local cured meats and charcoal rotisserie. Museums are close by and the Calgary Tower stands directly opposite, offering panoramic views over the city and the Rocky Mountains.

Drive west to Canmore, around an hour and ten minutes away. Stay for two nights near the city, in a lodge perched high above a valley. Comfort here is quietly luxurious, with chalets, rooms and glamping tents all fully equipped, cosy and welcoming, with beautiful mountain views. The setting is ideal for lovers of wide open spaces and wild landscapes. After a day of exploring, what better way to unwind than to retreat to your balcony, sipping on a drink as you admire the views?

Set in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, Canmore is a charming mountain town on the edge of Banff National Park. With its mining tradition firmly in the past, the town has turned decisively towards nature, becoming an excellent base for discovering the vast landscapes of western Canada and enjoying mountain activities. From the centre, you already feel immersed in the Rockies, with the protective silhouettes of Lady MacDonald, Lawrence Grassi and the iconic Three Sisters rising all around.
Optional - Hike in the Kananaskis Valley with a private guide.

Drive to Field, around one hour away, via the Trans-Canada Highway before entering Yoho National Park, lesser-known than its neighbour Banff. Settle in for an overnight stay by the Kicking Horse River, around 16 miles (25 km) from Lake Louise. In the foreground, the river flows past; behind it, dense forest stands out with its deep greens, while the backdrop of rocky - sometimes snow-capped - peaks carve a jagged skyline that feels almost within reach. In this breathtaking setting, your lodge, clad in wood and stone, sits in perfect harmony with its surroundings. Windows and terraces open fully onto the landscape, a view you never want to look away from. Inside, the atmosphere is as cosy as a family mountain chalet, as welcoming as a refuge found in the heart of a storm - with the added bonus of the views and a restaurant as well. In the evening, when weather allows, guests gather around a campfire on the riverbank.

Time to head north.
Must-do along the way - Exploring Yoho National Park. In Indigenous languages, the word “yoho” expresses awe, and for good reason. The smallest of the Canadian Rockies’ national parks has no shortage of marvels: towering rock faces, vertiginous waterfalls and nearly 30 peaks rising above 9,840 feet (3,000 metres). Then add to this the spectacular scenery and a remarkably rich variety of wildlife and plant life. Don't miss Takakkaw Falls, plunging more than 1,148 feet (350 metres) and fed by the Daly Glacier; Wapta Falls, an excellent spot for birdwatching; and Emerald Lake, named for the striking colour of its waters, reflecting the snow-capped Wapta and Carnarvon mountains.
Continue on and enter Jasper National Park. The 3½-hour drive to the town of Jasper follows Highway 93, also known as the Icefields Parkway, which winds through the mountains and delivers sublime views of glaciers, glittering peaks, forests, lakes and waterfalls.
Check in for three nights a few miles from Jasper, on the shores of Lake Beauvert, at an exceptional lodge whose history dates back to 1915. While it's far from the intimacy of a guesthouse, the atmosphere remains warm and the chalet spirit very much alive. Around the main building, the hotel spreads out into attractive bungalows housing very comfortable rooms, all oriented towards the mountains thanks to large picture windows. Service is impeccable and, between your outdoor adventures, you can choose from nine restaurants, a heated swimming pool and a spa complete with steam room and sauna.

Spanning an impressive 3,861 square miles (10,000 km²), Jasper National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Canada’s largest national park. It feels like stepping out of the world, surrounded by jaw-dropping scenery in a landscape largely untouched by human presence.
In your itinerary - A canoe ride on Pyramid Lake in a hand-crafted canoe built in the Canadian tradition. Keep your eyes open - it’s not uncommon to spot bald eagles, elk or bighorn sheep. At your side is a guide who knows the park like the back of their hand.?
See and do - Bathe in the thermal pools at Miette Hot Springs; explore Maligne Canyon and Maligne Lake, home to the photogenic Spirit Island; try your hand (or improve your skills) at watersports on Lake Edith; take the Jasper SkyTram, a vertiginous cable car with dizzying valley views; and discover the surrounding lakes: Patricia, ideal for strolling, picnicking and swimming; Edith, recommended for kayaking and boating; and Annette, well-suited to all kinds of watersports.

Drive east to Edmonton (4 hours), return the vehicle, then fly to Vancouver (1 hour 40 minutes). On arrival, collect your new rental car then settle in for one night at a recently built hotel in North Vancouver. From this side of the harbour, you have an unrivalled view of the city skyline. Guests enjoy excellent facilities, a spa, a comfortable room and, above all, a peaceful neighbourhood - perfect for making the transition to the next part of the journey.

Drive to Horseshoe Bay.
See and do en route - The Capilano Suspension Bridge, 450 ft (137 m) long and 230 ft (70 m) above the river - an impressive crossing; further north, climb Grouse Mountain, on foot or by cable car, a summer hiking favourite and winter ski spot; take in the unique viewpoint from The Eye of the Wind, a wind turbine with a public observation pod; and explore Deep Cove, a charming little village tucked between sea and mountains, perfect for scenic walks and kayaking.
At Horseshoe Bay, board a ferry to Langdale (40 minutes). Then follow the coast to Halfmoon Bay (45 minutes), where you settle in for a three-night stay. Your hotel is immersed in nature, with canvas lodges set among the trees on the Strait of Georgia. “Tent” hardly does it justice when there’s underfloor heating and a hot tub - this is glamping at its finest. An idyllic setting, with a pool and nature-focused activities. This secluded and intimate site offers a different kind of camping experience.

Welcome to the Sunshine Coast - a pocket-sized natural paradise just a short hop from Vancouver. You have two full days to explore at your own pace. For example, you might spend a day on the Thormanby Islands, alternating between a beautiful sandy beach and Buccaneer Bay Marine Park. At low tide, you can walk between the two islands and watch marine life in the tidal pools left behind as the water retreats. You could also take a forest walk of a few miles to the impressive Skookumchuck Narrows rapids, which fearless kayakers tackle at certain times of day. Smugglers Cove Provincial Park also offers great walks, including a trail that skirts wetlands and reveals a rich variety of plant and animal life, along with marsh birds. At its end lies a secluded cove where, in another era, Indigenous peoples came to fish and smugglers sought refuge during Prohibition.
Optional - An oceanfront massage; boat trip to spot sea lions.

Return to Langdale, ferry back to Horseshoe Bay, then the final stretch into Vancouver. Settle in for two nights in the central Coal Harbour area. Your hotel is contemporary and quietly elegant, where the comfort of travellers comes first. The rooms are cosy, very well equipped, and understated enough to make you feel at home. Service is impeccable, from the spa to the restaurant, which serves an excellent breakfast. It's a refuge of relaxation and refinement, just steps from the city’s main sights.

Cosmopolitan and cultural, Vancouver has far more to offer than its skyline suggests. Surrounded by water and mountains, it's a striking model of how city life and nature can coexist. The clearest example is Stanley Park, the city’s green lung, where over 990 acres (400 hectares) of the area are covered with cedars and firs. For a unique perspective, climb to the Lions Gate Bridge or to the top of Grouse Mountain for a panorama where forest and ultra-modern skyscrapers share the same frame. But Vancouver is also experienced from within - among the stalls of Granville Market, in the galleries of the Museum of Anthropology, and through neighbourhoods of eclectic architecture: the Fairmont Hotel’s château-style feel, the neo-Gothic Christ Church Cathedral, the hip industrial feel of Yaletown’s converted warehouses, and more.
Optional - Seaplane flight over Vancouver.

Drive to the airport, return the rental car and take your international return flight. Night on board, arrival the next day.

À la carte

This suggested itinerary can be customisable down to the smallest detail, including duration, stops and content. An à la carte menu of experiences is also available to create a journey that reflects who you are.

Canmore - Hiking in Kananaskis Valley

With a seasoned guide by your side, set out to explore Kananaskis Valley - a hidden gem in the Canadian Rockies - on a two-hour hike. The trail leads through unspoilt environment, rich in flora and fauna, and dotted with lakes and magnificent views of the surrounding area. A picnic is planned along the way.

Halfmoon Bay - A Massage With a View

A moment of relaxation to enjoy alone or with a partner, gazing out over the dazzling panoramas of the Strait of Georgia.

Halfmoon Bay - Sea Lion Spotting

The diverse ecosystems of the Vancouver Island region make it one of the finest places for observing wildlife in British Columbia. Sechelt Inlet, in particular, is an ideal spot for watching sea lions, who have made their home there and can often be seen lounging idly in the sun.

Vancouver by Seaplane

For about 30 minutes, we’ll take to the skies in a seaplane, which showcases the city of Vancouver from a unique angle: Stanley Park, the North Shore Mountains, Horseshoe Bay, Deep Cove… Photography enthusiasts will try and capture these breathtaking panoramas, while others will fill their minds with unforgettable memories.
