Hanging up your hat in the Dominican Republic, just as you would in your own holiday home? Now there’s a delightful idea. It’s also far from being unattainable, since it is the common thread of this journey during which you have exclusive enjoyment of a delightful seaside villa. The guarantee of perfect independence and an excellent level of comfort for the whole family. The location of this family home was not chosen by chance: Las Terrenas, in the north of the island, is an adorable fishing village where time flows at a delightfully gentle pace. Every day, you watch the dance of the colourful boats, already thinking about the lunch menu - lobster! Lead a bohemian life against a backdrop of seaside gaiety, alternating swimming, coconut water, naps, and explorations on land and at sea. These add a lovely rhythm to your holiday, leaving you all the time you need to improvise beautiful moments with family or friends. Accompanied by guides, you will spend a day on a wild beach, enjoying only the best of Robinson Crusoe’s life: a boat trip, swimming, snorkelling and grilled lobster savoured on fine sand. Another day is devoted to Los Haitises National Park, a sublime natural sanctuary covering 200 km² (77 square miles), teeming with mangroves and primary forest, and hollowed out by mysterious caves, some of which contain precious Taíno petroglyphs and pictograms. Like great explorers, you journey through breathtaking sites, moving through luxuriant nature to reach an island populated by pelicans, natural pools, underground rivers and a unique restaurant, hidden at the end of a canal lined with mangroves. Also on the agenda is a kayak excursion in Cosón Bay, during which a passionate guide shares with you their love of aquatic worlds - sea, mangroves, marshes, rivers - and their unique fauna and flora. You may even happen upon a few turtles and harmless sharks. Another highlight of the trip is boarding a boat to encounter humpback whales, which come to enjoy the Samaná Bay every year between January and March. Keeping a reasonable distance so as not to disturb these fascinating marine mammals, you scan the waves in silence, watching for the glint of a fin, the sudden geyser formed by a blowhole, the graceful movement of a tail disappearing beneath the surface and, if you are lucky, a joyful leap sending one of these ebony bodies flying above the water just a few dozen metres (yards) away. Moments of grace that will remain forever etched in the memories of travellers of all ages. 

Your journey

As soon as you set foot on Dominican soil, you head off by private transfer to your villa on the Samaná Peninsula. You won’t need a vehicle for the rest of your trip, as everything you need to be happy is within walking distance - even in flip-flops: beautiful beaches, as well as a few shops, restaurants and bars. You’ll only need to think about lunch, as the other meals are prepared each day at home by a private chef. This is true luxury, especially when travelling with the family. Your private villa is located within a secure complex, just a short walk from a very pretty beach on the north of the peninsula and close to a waterfall with crystal-clear waters, where you can swim after a pleasant stroll through the tropical forest. The elegant Caribbean house offers four air-conditioned bedrooms, a fully fitted kitchen, a laundry room, and a spacious living area with an open mezzanine. The spaces, with their contemporary design, are arranged around a beautiful terrace where a pool surrounded by palm trees takes centre stage. A housekeeping service is provided every day.
