Your private chalets
Near to Saint-Martin-de-BellevilleYou step into an elegant Relais & Châteaux accommodation venue, a beautiful Savoyard chalet exuding comfort and styled in dream-like mountain decor with weathered wood that, if it could speak, would surely have many stories to tell. Here and there, bells, pottery, woollen fabric and hay forks - family heirlooms or unearthed treasures - all breathe life and charm into the setting. In sunny moments during the day, you unwind on your balcony, a blanket over your legs, absorbed by the snowy mountain. In the evening, sink into one of the bar’s plush armchairs or head to the spa, which offers a true escape from the cold - hay sauna, citrus steam room, treatments with milk and aromatic herbs. But above all, the story of this place has been written at the table. The simple raclettes and fondues of earlier years have made way for more refined dishes - the result of the imagination and hard work of father and son, both self-trained chefs. A cuisine always inspired by terroir produce, offering refined interpretations paired with mountain wines. The restaurant was awarded a third Michelin star a few years ago.
In Le Grand-Bornand
, set slightly apart from the slopes and facing the Aravis mountains, this chalet is a well-kept secret whose story is woven into that of the Grand-Bornand resort. This is a century-old Alpine farm, meticulously restored without losing any of its character. Stone sits alongside old beams, linen is paired with cosy cushions, tones range from white to cream, and vintage finds are complemented by more contemporary additions. Rooms and suites have been created in the former barns and mazots. The fire crackles in the lounges, while guests curl up on the sofa to read or watch the snow fall behind the picture windows - everywhere, a delightfully warm atmosphere prevails. Hot chocolate and Savoie cake are served daily when, with a red nose and a smile, you return from a day outdoors. Once you’ve readjusted to the cosy indoors, head to the spa - the property’s latest addition. The latter is housed in the former stables, at the end of a stone path - mosaic-tiled hammam, swimming pool, massage room. A nod to the past: the cows’ names remain engraved in the polished wood.
Itinerary
100% customisable for you
Stay for two nights in one of the cosy rooms of a pretty Savoyard chalet in the Belleville Valley. This lively and welcoming home is a family-run business with several lounges and cosy rooms carved out of wood that is steeped in history and memories. The décor is typically Alpine and timeless, so it is simple and refined. This applies to the suites as well as the restaurant and the delightful spa, where guests can warm up after a day in the fresh air. In addition to treatments and massages, guests can enjoy the sauna, steam room and swimming pool. The same goes for the lounges, which invite you to curl up in an armchair here and there. To slow down.
The authentic village of Saint-Martin-de-Belleville has remained true to its roots as the soul and atmosphere of yesteryear have been preserved, from the narrow streets guarded by the bell tower to the vaulted stables, gourmet inns and stone farms, some of which have been converted into cosy accommodation. Your hotel is just a few minutes’ drive from the Saint-Martin and Les Menuires ski lifts. Enjoy skiing down the slopes of Les Trois Vallées, the world’s largest ski area, which includes the prestigious resorts of Courchevel, Méribel and Val Thorens, among others. Your equipment and ski passes have already been arranged, so all you have to do is hit the slopes in the direction of your choice.
Already planned for dinner - a table reservation at your hotel’s three-Michelin-star restaurant.
Head to Le Grand-Bornand, where you will stay for three nights. The village has preserved a pleasant historic centre built around a grenette, a former grain market, and a church recognisable by its bulbous bell tower. Your chalet is a century-old former alpine farm. The cosy rooms and suites have been converted from old barns and mazots. The crackling fire in the lounges, the smell of Savoy cake that you devour when you return from a day in the fresh air, the warmth of the spa... Everything is pure bliss.
On your itinerary - Private dog sledding trip. Head to a nearby resort where a passionate musher and his cheerful pack await you. Once the team is properly harnessed, settle comfortably into the sledge, which will soon be propelled forward by the dogs’ boundless energy. You glide sensually through the snow-covered landscape and its silence, broken only by a few enthusiastic barks and the master’s encouragement.
Once again, your equipment and ski passes are provided so you can hit the slopes at Le Grand-Bornand, a resort suitable for all levels. Along the sunny slopes of Mont Lachat, in the Charmieux and Floria areas, the Alps reveal all their winter charms, with mountain inns, snow-covered fir trees and two-hundred-year-old chalets.
On your itinerary - A private snowshoe hike. Snowshoeing is the ultimate mountain activity and is the most discreet way to immerse yourself in alpine nature. Accompanied by a guide, you’ll follow trails that wind through coniferous forests and pristine plains. Along the way, you’ll breathe in the fresh air and tranquillity, and enjoy beautiful views.
