Family holidays have a power that is rarely fully appreciated: the power to bring people closer together. With this in mind, we crafted this trip in two parts so you can spend time together, with the focus on comfort and peace and quiet. Your accommodation becomes a home from home, thousands of miles from where you live. First you stay for four nights in a private villa near Le Diamant, in the south of Martinique. This bay is home to a town and a massive rock rising just off the coast. It's the perfect place to get into the Caribbean spirit, especially as it’s easy to explore the whole island with your pre-booked rental car. Then you head to the east of the island and the marina at Le Marin, where you board a catamaran for a three-day cruise along the Caribbean coast. As you sail you pass Sainte-Luce, Diamond Rock, Les Anses d'Arlet and, once past Fort-de-France Bay, the Creole villages of Case-Pilote and Carlet before disembarking at Saint-Pierre, at the foot of Mount Pelée. Scheduled: coasting along, napping and relaxing on the boat’s deck, snorkelling and swimming alongside butterflyfish, porcupinefish, parrotfish, turtles, trumpetfish, boxfish and more. And you might even be lucky enough to find curious dolphins swimming alongside you from time to time by . A journey where every trip is an adventure, where each adventure delights parents and children alike, and it’s all stress-free. Because you can always count on the assistance of our on site Concierge who is available to respond to any last minute requests or handle any slight hitches.

Your accommodation

On land
Your private villa is perched in the hills above Le Diamant, nestled in a wonderful tropical garden. Pleasantly open to the outdoors, it extends onto a terrace and a small pool. It’s perfect for cooling off after a day of exploring. The decor has been tastefully designed and is understated enough for you to feel at home right away. There are two separate bedrooms so that everyone has their own space. In the fully equipped kitchen you can prepare meals whenever you want and cook for as many people as you like. As for the beaches, they are only a five-minute drive away and can also be reached on foot.

At sea
The catamaran where you stay for three nights is not just a boat it’s your own little floating home. Comfort is certainly a priority, and there are plenty of spaces for you to relax: the lounge, sunbeds, large benches and the panoramic roof. There are enough cosy cabins for everyone to have their own room - a true luxury at sea!, And all the cabins have portholes so you never lose sight of the sea. It's all about maximum comfort so you can enjoy the cruise and the stops to the full. On board, the attentive crew takes care of all the daily arrangements, starting with meals prepared with fresh, local ingredients.

Itinerary

100% customisable for you

Upon arrival, collect your rental car and drive to Le Diamant, in the south-west of the island. You will settle in for four nights in a very comfortable villa, nestled  within five hectares (12 acres) of landscaped gardens, just a few hundred metres from the beach. Your spacious villa is set over two levels and fully equipped. There is a kitchen with everything you need to prepare delicious family meals, a cosy living room and, the icing on the cake,, a small private pool - also known as a bac à punch! While much time is spent outdoors, the interiors are pleasant and tastefully decorated.

The town of Le Diamant and its beautiful bay seem to owe their name to this iconic rock floating a few kilometres (miles) off the coast. A 175-metre-high rock has become a popular spot for divers who come to admire its rich and colourful marine life: butterflyfish, porcupinefish, parrotfish, turtles, trumpetfish, boxfish and more. On land, visitors can enjoy other Caribbean delights - sandy white beaches lined with palm trees, small towns with a laid-back atmosphere, and trails leading to remarkable natural and historical sites.
Things to do - We also recommend hiking on the Caravelle Peninsula, near La Trinité. You start your walk near Dubuc Castle. Built in the 18th century by the Norman family of the same name, it was once a sugar and coffee plantation. This is the departure point for two fascinating trails. The first trail, about 10 km (6 miles) long (3 hours and 30 minutes to 4 hours), circles the peninsula, passing by the Caravelle lighthouse - a superb viewpoint from which you can see the entire east coast, including Caracoli Point, the easternmost tip of the island. The second route, which is shorter and better suited for families of occasional walkers, stretches for just under three kilometres (2 miles) and takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. For most of the way, you walk in the shade of the trees until you reach the heart of the mangrove, where signs explain how this unique ecosystem was formed.

Do not miss - Domaine d’Émeraude. Once an agricultural plantation, the site was handed over to the Martinique Regional Nature Park after it closed. Designed as an educational garden, it spans 25 hectares (62 acres) of sensory exploration where curious visitors of all ages can observe and learn from nature, with Mount Pelée rising through the clouds in the background. The estate is divided into two areas. The first is a “developed forest” criss-crossed by four kilometres (2.5 miles) of shared trails. As you stroll along, you can spot a hundred or so species of native birds as they flutter and sing. The second is a pavilion dedicated to exploring nature, where, the island’s full biodiversity is showcased alongside inspiring quotes, proverbs, and poems.

Things to see and do:   Pick up fresh fruit and cod fritters at the Diamant market; bask on the  volcanic sand of Anse Noire; take multiple dips and perhaps spot turtles; doze in the shade of a coconut tree on Salines beach; have grilled fish or lobster for lunch on the beach.

Drive to Le Marin, return the car, and board a fully equipped catamaran - your floating home for the next three days. Lounge area, sunbeds, large benches, panoramic space on the roof… There is no shortage of places to unwind. The cabins are cosy and their portholes mean you never lose sight of the sea. The children have their own “room” - enough to make everyone happy! On board, an expert crew takes care of everything: navigation, of course, and meals, prepared with fresh, local ingredients. On the first day, you sail westward towards Les Anses d'Arlet. The calm waters let you swim peacefully among the fish, and maybe even turtles.

You continue your journey north along the island’s west coast. Beyond the bay of Fort-de-France, you’ll find  wonderful views of the Creole villages of Case-Pilote, Bellefontaine and Le Carbet, where you might even come face to face with a pod of dolphins!

Last day of sailing and final moments at sea as you approach Saint-Pierre, at the foot of Mount Pelée.

Disembark at the port of Saint-Pierre, where you bid farewell to the crew. Private transfer to Fort-de-France airport and return flight. Night on board, arrival the next day.

À la carte

This suggested itinerary can be customisable down to the smallest detail, including duration, stops and content. An à la carte menu of experiences is also available to create a journey that reflects who you are.

Atlantic coast cruise

The catamaran cruise can also sail along the island’s east coast. Departing from the port of Le Marin, you head to Le Francois, followed by the Ilets du Robert and finally the Baie du Trésor. It’s a different yet complementary view of Martinique. In fact, with a few extra days, you can sail round the whole island, in either direction, as the boat will return to its departure point.
