Mauritius with the Whole Family An exclusive week in a private villa
Mauritius - West Coast - Rivière Noire
A lagoon at the bottom of the garden
On the west coast of Mauritius, set on La Preneuse beach, a cocoon of comfort and tropical elegance awaits you for a week with your family. This spacious villa (500 m²) that captures the feel of Balinese houses is perfectly suited to the gentle Mauritian lifestyle and the sea breeze of the Indian Ocean. In fact, the ocean is just a few steps away and appears as soon as you enter, beyond the garden planted with palm trees. In harmony with the natural surroundings, the interiors feature lots of wood and combine exotic design with high-end comfort. The five bedrooms and independent studio provide guests with absolute privacy. The generous spaces of the lounge, terrace and kitchen mean everyone can come together while focusing on their own well-being. During the day, after a snorkelling trip, take a dip in the pool, or let the hammam add to the sensory enjoyment of your morning swim in the sea. On site, a chef is at your disposal, ready, at your request, to pull out all the stops. You also have your own on site host who will look after you during your stay. They can give you access to the 5-star services of the neighbouring hotels for the golf, spa, restaurants or children's activities. In the evening, back in your peaceful haven, you can daydream while gazing at the ocean and the sunset, before the glowing, golden evenings give way to starry skies.
On the west coast
Head to the west coast of Mauritius, which is imbued with a unique atmosphere. In the distance, the island's emblematic mountain emerges, the majestic Morne Brabant. While walking on the sand, you come across traces of the island's history, reminders of the colonial era when Britain and France vied for this piece of land. At the end of the 18th century, a French warship is said to have found refuge in the bay of Rivière Noire after roaming the Indian Ocean. What was its name? La Preneuse, which is now also the name of one of the most beautiful beaches in this part of the island. With its white sand and turquoise waters protected by a coral reef, it offers an idyllic setting, which is perfect for swimming and ideal for families with young children. But Mauritius is not just a stunning backdrop. It’s an enchanting island with a soul that reveals itself through unforgettable experiences. Off the coast of La Preneuse, long-beaked dolphins and bottlenose dolphins can frequently be seen. Snorkelling enthusiasts will find some good spots off the coast of Flic en Flac. The calm waters of this beach, sheltered from the wind, are perfect for children and are home to a fascinating underwater ecosystem, which includes coral reefs, butterflyfish, white-tailed damselfish, angelfish and small moray eels. These treasures are rivalled only by the tropical forest, where walkers of all ages can discover wild flowers and animals, just steps from the ocean. And while the famous dodo, whose intact skeleton is on display at the Natural History Museum in Port-Louis, disappeared long ago, the songs of hundreds of exotic birds with amusing names still echo. Paille en queue, the echo parakeet, the red fody and the red-whiskered bulbul can all still be heard.
