Itinerary highlights

  • Soak up the Cuban atmosphere and experience Havana from within.
  • Waking up in a charming casa particular, in the heart of Vedado
  • Havana with a local in a classic American car, your table reserved at an excellent restaurant, the alternative Fábrica de Arte Cubano, a trip to the beach: it’s all planned.
  • Carbon absorption, mobile app, concierge service, local phone: the extra Voyageurs touch
In recent years, Cuba has shown itself in a new light. Havana, city of dreams and legends, has a new look, which now attracts visitors not only for the richness of its past, but also for its arts and nightlife. Art galleries, trendy bars and rooftop venues are popping up across the city as the Cuban capital is experiencing a cultural revolution. Between the Plaza de Armas and the Plaza de la Catedral, 16th Spain is on display: baroque houses, charming yet decadent façades, and shaded courtyards. Take it all in from your bench seat on an evening ride in an American car. Along the Malecón, vintage Chevrolets are still overtaken by sidecars, crammed full with cheerful Cuban families. Havana is no longer the sleeping beauty: it has begun its metamorphosis. To truly grasp the transformation taking place, you’ll get to spend time with a local resident - and not just any resident. An art critic, former ballet dancer, journalist, or teacher at the School of Fine Arts, your guide is a true cultural expert. They will take you on an informal walk to show you the real Havana, as they share their insightful, artist’s perspective on things. We have also reserved skip-the-line tickets for the FAC (Fabrica de Arte Cubano), a meeting place for Cuba’s creative youth. 7,000 m² (75,000 sq ft) of former industrial wasteland dedicated to alternative cultures, where hip-hop, rock and electronic music concerts alternate with fashion shows and contemporary art exhibitions. Also on your agenda is a day outside Havana at Tarara Beach, far from the hustle and bustle of the capital, to savour the gentle way of life on the Caribbean coast. Finally, because culture is also shared through cuisine, we have booked you dinner in one of the city's top restaurants. And don’t forget our concierge, available to assist you throughout your trip: dealing with the unexpected is what they do!

Your Accommodation

We have selected acasa particular for you, just steps from the beautiful John Lennon Park, in Vedado. This type of Cuban guesthouse allows you to discover the island, living among its residents while maintaining your independence. Vedado is ideal for exploring Havana on foot, with a joyful mix of houses, theatres, restaurants and bars. And while it may not have the cachet of the Old Town, you’ll enjoy its easy-going Latino atmosphere. The house where you are staying is imbued with the creative vibe that is a hallmark of your trip. Art is everywhere here, sometimes in surprising forms, enhancing the extraordinary charm of this beautiful early 20th-century building. The four bedrooms are fresh, spacious and bright. The hidden garden at the back of the house is perfect for sipping a drink before dinner or for a peaceful breakfast.

À la carte

This suggested itinerary can be customisable down to the smallest detail, including duration, stops and content. An à la carte menu of experiences is also available to create a journey that reflects who you are.

Private Tour of Habana Vieja

Havana’s Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, an open-air museum containing the most beautiful buildings, monuments and museums in the country. This mestizo of the New World is a feast of colonial architecture, a decadent city in every sense of the word, and that is what makes it so charming. You’ll have a few hours to explore on foot, visit the Palace of the Captains General or another museum in Havana Old Town, and enjoy a cafe or hot chocolate. Wander through the streets of the different districts, soaking up local life and feeling its vibrant pulse.
Optional - With a private guide

Show at the Gran Teatro

Founded in 1838, the Gran Teatro de La Habana (theatre) features neobaroque architecture, adorned with stone sculptures. It is the home of the Cuban National Ballet, founded in 1948 by Alicia Alonso, renowned Cuban prima ballerina. An emblem of Havana, this theatre is remains a prestigious arts venue, where performances take on an entirely new dimension.

Add a few more days for Trinidad

After exploring the streets of Havana, treat yourself to a peaceful break in Trinidad, a colourful colonial town where time seems to have stood still. Wander through the Plaza Mayor, which eloquently bears witness to the past, or visit the Romantic Museum for a glimpse of the luxury in which the great colonial families once lived. If you feel like listening to music and dancing, go and have a drink at the Casa de la Trova. Above the town, in the Escambray Mountains, lies Topes de Collantes Nature Reserve. This vast, high-altitude forest served as a refuge for the rebels led by Che Guevara during the Revolution that started in 1958 - and more recently, for anti-Castro groups. Today, it is a hikers’ paradise where eucalyptus, coffee, palms and orchids grow alongside bamboo groves, providing a home for thousands of birds.
