Northeast Brazil travel

A journey to the Northeast is an encounter with the Sertão, a vast, arid region. Rare rainfall, cacti and thorny shrubs. The harshness of local life and frequent droughts have shaped the culture of the Nordeste: from social banditry (Lampião and the Cangaceiros), to a rich local literature (Cordel) set to the sound of forró.
