While parents may know that karst is formed by the erosion of carbonate rocks, children often don't. Yet their imaginations are sparked by these peaks rising from the sea, jagged landscapes, mysterious caves, peaceful lakes and the lush jungle draping everything in green. Geology and dreams of adventure come together here, and discovering magnificent landscapes as a family is pure joy. The journey begins in Bangkok with an immersion into the captivating world of Thai civilisation, its culinary delights, Theravada Buddhism, ancestral traditions and contagious energy. Next, you will spend three days in Khao Sok National Park, on the edge of the dense tropical jungle, listening to the songs of the gibbons and spotting playful macaques. You will also stay overnight in a real floating village on Cheow Lan Lake. The second part of the journey, aroundKo Phra Thong Island, reveals the splendours of the Andaman Sea. There is more karst, but this time wrapped in turquoise waters. You sail through the archipelago, venture into the winding mangrove channels and, above all, unwind just steps from an idyllic fine sandy beach, with nothing to worry about except living to the gentle rhythm of nature. This moment of relaxation by the beach lets your emotions settle. The children have learned many things, and their parents have rediscovered the dizzying thrills of imagination.

Your trip

With tours and activities dotted throughout the itinerary, this trip maintains a lively pace. Follow a local through the streets of Bangkok, head out on a lake safari, and explore the untouched Koh Ra Nature Reserve. Each day delivers fresh discoveries and unforgettable impressions. To ensure the experience never feels overwhelming, everything has been carefully balanced and there is plenty of free time. You can choose to join a night food tour, meet elephants, take a local cooking class, or just relax and enjoy a peaceful moment in beautiful nature. Everything included in your itinerarywas always meant to be there. You won’t regret it. There's something for everyone, adults and children alike.. You will travel by plane, by car with a driver, or by boat, with a private guide. Transfers are also designed to be effortless. The idea is to combine fun and awe for the whole family. Hotels also matter. They provide comfort, dining, and a memorable atmosphere. When it comes to your hotels, you’re spoiled for choice: a hotel that blends retro and contemporary styles in the vibrant Thonglor district of Bangkok; a cabin on the edge of the jungle and a floating bungalow on the calm waters of Cheow Lan Lake in Khao Sok National Park; a villa just a few steps from the beach on Ko Phra Thong. Your welcome will be in harmony with the sites. And in case of a minor setback or an unexpected whim, you have the contact details of our on-site Concierges who are used to handling the unexpected! Working with your travel specialist, they can also adjust your trip to suit your preferences as it unfolds.

Your family will love it.

Buddha’s head emerging from the roots of a strangler fig tree; daring each other to eat a delicious plate of grilled crickets; gorging on mangoes; coming face to face with a sea turtle or a macaque; gliding across Cheow Lan Lake in a long-tail boat; sipping a chilled Nam Daeng; admiring golden Buddhas; sampling the little treats sold on market stall; observing the colourful uniforms of Thai schoolchildren; falling asleep on the water or in the trees; getting lost in the bustle of Bangkok; expressing gratitude with a heartfelt kop khun (“thank you” in Thai); getting around by tuk-tuk…

Itinerary

100% customisable for you

Night spent on the plane, arrival the next day.

Early morning arrival, fast-track airport formalities and private transfer to the heart of vibrant Thonglor, which is home to some of the capital’s most sought-after bars and restaurants. Three-night stay on a residential street, just a few minutes from the BTS Skytrain - your room is available immediately. Inspired by the heritage homes of the Sukhumvit district, the accommodation’s interior evokes local history through carefully chosen details. Each space boldly interprets materials and objects from the past. Although there is neither a pool nor a garden, you will find a rooftop terrace and a charming restaurant with Thai and Chinese influences. For now, you rest and settle in, and get a feel for the neighbourhood.

Scheduled - Bangkok in the footsteps of a local. Accompanied by an expatriate who has lived in Bangkok for several years and loves Thailand, the whole family dives into the fascinating bustle of the capital. Follow in their footsteps, and let your own wishes and those of your children guide you. Set off to discover hidden neighbourhoods, lively markets, and street food. A relaxed stroll suitable for all ages, unfolding along the water, and offering an authentic and captivating way to discover the culture, the city and its people.

Things to do and see- Two major cultural sites: the Royal Palace, with Wat Phra Kaeo (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), and Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha). The Emerald Buddha, carved in the 15th century from green jade, is housed in the royal chapel. It is a revered symbol of the ruling Chakri dynasty. You also visit the throne room, the coronation hall and the state reception room. Wat Pho is undoubtedly the oldest temple in Bangkok (late 18th century). It houses a monumental reclining Buddha statue, gilded with gold leaf (entering nirvana). It is 46 metres long and 15 metres high. The soles of Siddhartha Gautama’s feet are inlaid with mother-of-pearl: 108 symbols of the Buddha. Within the temple, a traditional massage school welcomes you to entrust your feet to the students, who will leave them feeling relaxed, supple, and light.
Optional - Family-friendly private tour of Bangkok.

Private transfer to the airport, then flight to Surat Thani. Welcome and transfer to reach Khao Sok National Park. Two-night stay in a bungalow on stilts on the edge of the jungle. In this little corner of paradise, the local monkeys are an integral part of the decor, strutting along the simple yet cosy rooms. The charming manager, May, shares all the tips you would expect from a local host. Breakfast, overflowing with fresh fruit, home-made sweet treats and artisanal jams, rivals those served at the finest establishments.
Optional - Meeting with elephants, camp-fire and night safari.

Khao Sok National Park, located between Phuket, Krabi, Khao Lak and Koh Samui, is a true wonder. Here, you find yourself among jungle landscapes, some of the oldest tropical rainforests on the planet and limestone cliffs, lakes and mysterious caves. This is the home of long-tailed macaques, langurs, and the rarer pythons and cobras. Around Khlong Seng, you meet gaurs, wild elephants and gibbons. The days are shaped by walks and hikes which, however easy, always offer wonderful surprises.
Optional - Cooking class with a local host.

Scheduled - Excursion on Cheow Lan Lake. You board a traditional boat for a journey through fascinating lakeside landscapes including peaks, pinnacles and caves. After lunch on board, spend the afternoon water sports. The afternoon is devoted to the joys of swimming and canoeing. At the end of the day, after a short ride on a long-tail boat, you reach a small cluster of floating lodges set in the heart of the tropical jungle. Studios and villas, flooded with light, blend harmoniously into this setting of lush green mountains. This will be your shelter for the night. The white walls, the light wood covering the floors and framing the headboards, and the ceiling fans spinning their blades overhead create a soothing atmosphere. Large picture windows look onto the lake, giving centre stage to the surrounding scenery. The experience continues at the restaurant, which also offers a view, and showcases traditional Thai flavours.

Scheduled: morning boat safari. This is the perfect time of day to spot groups of macaques quenching their thirst, a monitor lizard basking in the sun, dusky leaf monkeys leaping from tree to tree, or gibbons starting their morning chorus. You all disembark for a walk in the jungle to learn more about the local wildlife and the different species of plants found in the park. A little later, you enjoy lunch on the water before heading back to shore. Transfer to Kuraburi pier and boat crossing to Ko Phra Thong. Four-night stay in a charming wooden villa nestled between 12 kilometres (7 miles) of fine sandy beach and lush vegetation. Everything is set for you to fully and peacefully enjoy the final days of your family trip.

Here, far from the hustle and bustle that defines some Thai islands, you find a secluded and intimate retreat that invites you to switch off: early morning yoga sessions, long walks on the beach, kayaking trips, snorkelling, relaxing massages, sunset aperitifs, barbecues on the sand…
Scheduled - The Ko Ra Nature Reserve. This adventure on Ko Ra Island - on the other side of the bay from your accommodation - begins with a short speedboat crossing. Then, after a quick climb through the dense tropical forest, you cross the island in the shade of lush foliage until you reach a small secluded beach at lunchtime - perfect for a picnic and a refreshing swim in the turquoise waters of the Andaman Sea.
Optional - A morning fishing off Ko Phra Thong.

You have most of the day to enjoy the island: a short morning hike inland, relaxing on the beach or a massage at the spa - the choice is yours. In the late afternoon, cross back to the mainland, drive to Phuket airport, fly to Bangkok, then take your international return flight. Night on board, arrival the next day.

À la carte

This suggested itinerary can be customisable down to the smallest detail, including duration, stops and content. An à la carte menu of experiences is also available to create a journey that reflects who you are.

Bangkok with the family to explore canals, market and temple

Your tour with a private guide begins with a boat ride along the khlongs, where Bangkok reveals another facet — simpler and more traditional — until you reach the Baan Silapin Artist House. In this century-old house, on the tranquil banks of the canal, you can all try your hand at decorating traditional masks. Move on to the flower market in the Pak Klong Talad district, with its lively and colourful atmosphere, to learn more about the importance of flowers in Thai daily life. Your final stop will be at the Loha Prasat Buddhist monastery, a true architectural gem. You end the day nearby on a delicious note, sampling some Thai specialities at a street stall.

Meeting with elephants, camp-fire and night safari

The whole family sets out with your guide to meet Asian elephants in an ethical sanctuary, where these retired elephants enjoy peaceful days in the heart of the tropical forest. At nightfall, enjoy a traditional dinner around a camp fire, served in pieces of bamboo used as crockery. A short torchlit walk along the edge of the forest lets you observe nocturnal wildlife before returning to the village.

Thai cookery class

Guided by an enthusiast, the whole family sets out to learn the basics of Thai cooking. Find out how to grate coconut to obtain the milk, make curry paste with a pestle and mortar, and cook rice in bamboo. It's an entertaining way to explore the richness of Thai culinary culture and draw inspiration for your next meals. Of course, you will have the pleasure of tasting what you have prepared.

Morning of fishing and tasting

A private guide and a Thai fisherman introduce you to line fishing with traditional methods, off the coast of Ko Phra Thong. Observe the professional at work before daring to imitate them. Back at the hotel, the chef prepares your day’s catch of fish and squid. The rewards are far sweeter when you’ve played a part in winning them.
